The _____ _______ Project

I just saw a banner ad for The Vanilla Ice Project. Lets leave the question of who wants to watch a show about Vanilla Ice for another thread. The fact of the matter is, when certain “actors” are getting a show planned around them, they have a tentative name of “The Stupid Celebrity Project” until it gets fleshed out and they think of a real title. However, what the hell is it with these shows that keep the working title in their name? Vanilla Ice’s PROJECT was making a tv show - I doubt he’s going to be working on any projects on the show. Same thing with that Michael Vick Project - I refused to watch out of principle, but the gist I heard about it was it was just him doing a “woe is me” thing for a half hour a week, without actually working on any projects. The worst thing of all is it wasn’t like his show was even raising money for animal rescue charities - the project was “lets refill Michael Vick’s bank account”.

So again, I ask, wtf is with these shows keeping the “project” in their title?

In Vanilla’s case, I think it’s a bit of a play on words. He’s actually going to be doing home renovation ‘projects’ as part of the show.

Don’t they already have Extreme Makeover (another play on words) to do that?

Is he gonna change his name to Villa Ice?

That’s great.

Extreme Makeover actually isn’t a play on words. The original Extreme Makeover was a show that gave people plastic surgery to make them look better and was pretty well and thoroughly disgusting. A literal “extreme makeover”.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition was a spinoff of that focusing around houses. After the original was canceled, it dropped the Home Edition subtitle.

is it just me or did a huge amount of posts get deleted?

You might be thinking of the other project.
