The Alina Habba Pit thread

And she’s attractive. Don’t forget that very important quality!

Such is subjective, but to Trump I’m sure yes. That’s the main reason she was his “spokesperson” for many of his legal problems. And I wouldn’t be surprised if that factored in here as well.

She’s also someone the Fox News/OANN audience will recognize, there is probably some value there for him.

I suspect part of her attraction to Voldemort is that she swallows instead of spitting it out.

She’s a thoroughly repulsive person and should have had her law license taken a long time ago but I don’t think the whore jokes are necessary.

I heard she’s getting sued by Mayor Baraka for false arrest and malicious prosecution. I’m not informed of 4th amendment cases but hope he gets her to sweat.

Here’s an article.

He was invited to an ICE detention facility, and when he arrived he was surrounded by 20 DHS agents who roughly arrested him and detained him for 5 hours.

While Habba and McLaughlin accused Baraka of attempting to “storm” the facility, his lawsuit noted he was actually invited onto the property by an agent of the GEO Group, a private prison operator that runs Delaney Hall, and was only placed under arrest after he had exited the gates when instructed.

Habba tried to have the lawsuit dismissed, but that didn’t go over so well.

“The hasty arrest of Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, followed swiftly by the dismissal of these trespassing charges a mere 13 days later, suggests a worrisome misstep by your office,” Magistrate Judge Andre Espinosa said.

“The apparent rush in this case, culminating today in the embarrassing retraction of charges, suggests a failure to adequately investigate, to carefully gather facts and to thoughtfully consider the implications of your actions before wielding your immense power,” he added.

That judge is not having it.

An epitaph for the entire Trump administration.

Heheheheh.

I’ll be happier when all of her appeals and whatnot are exhausted.

I’ll be even happier when she’s permanently disbarred.

Her name suggests she should be on an ICE hit list to be deported to some hellhole.

When your sole requirement for female lawyers is to be good looking, stupid things happen.

I wonder if you can disbar someone with prejudice?

It depends on where you are disbarred, but most states don’t have an ability to disbar someone permanently.

That being said, I imagine once you are disbarred, it would be difficult for the bar to accept you again.

Yes. Re-admission to the bar is vanishingly rare after disbarment in Ohio, for instance.

Will this affect any cases that were decided with her at the helm, if there were any?

Quite likely.

And now she’s resigned:

Is she expecting any sort of benefits for “resigning” from a post she never legally held in the first place?

The article says she may be reappointed, depending on how the litigation over her appointment shakes out. And she could always get a gig on Fox News, I suspect.

Some office buildings with executive dining services offer a free lunch sandwich on a person’s the last day. Or, if they are at the White House, perhaps they’d get a free Shiitake Sandwich?
