There was an obscure and weird one, Tony Barber’s Underwear. Tony Barber was an Australian quiz show host. Very cheesy, a bit like our Guy Smiley. I don’t know what was going through that poster’s head at the time, but it was funny.

I’ll second a fondness for names already mentioned like Left Hand of Dorkness, The Chao Goes Mu, You with the face, Tequila Mockingbird, and Exapno Mapcase.

There was somebody who used . as his screen name. I thought it was clever but he was told he’d have to change it. It must have made vanity searchs difficult though.

ASAKMOTSD stands for “All-Seeing, All-Knowing Master of Time, Space, (and) Dimension”. It reminds me of the Steve Martin line that goes something like “I want to be the all-seeing, all-knowing master of time, space, and dimension. Then I want to go to Europe.” I don’t know if that bit is the direct inspiration for the screen name, though.
