21 and I never watched the Muppets. I just know these people, except for three.
60
I mean, Rita Moreno? She’s an EGOT!

11, I’m 47
Bruce Forsythe and Charles Aznavour are the only 2 I know.
Kidding. The only 2 I don’t know.
65
I first learned of Lena Horne because Tom Lehrer mentioned her:
“But during National Brotherhood Week,
National Brotherhood Week,
Lena Horne and Sheriff Clarke
Are dancing check-to-cheek”
So the lesson is, don’t watch American TV and you wont grow old?
I got about 6 and I’m 74
Yes.
I’m 61.
Are you suggesting that if you do not watch TV, you will die young (i.e., “not grow old”)? As if TV is like some sort of essential vitamin?
I’ll play. I’m 61.
Juliet Prowse–no idea
Connie Stevens–no idea
Joel Grey–actor, right? I think I saw him in a revival of Anything Goes.
Ruth Buzzi–no idea
Rita Moreno–entertainer–something to do with West Side Story, maybe?
Jim Nabors–athlete? or sports announcer?
Florence Henderson–I think she was in the Brady Bunch or maybe the Partridge Family
Paul Williams–no idea
Charles Aznavour–no idea
Harvey Korman–a vaguely familiar name; an entertainer probably
Lena Horne–“and Sheriff Clark are dancing cheek to cheek” Singer.
Peter Ustinov–I think he narrated my sister’s Nutcracker Suite record album when we were kids
Bruce Forsythe–no idea
Sandy Duncan–entertainer, I think, maybe a dancer?
Candice Bergen–actor, and daughter of a ventriloquist
Avery Schreiber–no idea
Ben Vereen–a vaguely familiar name, an actor I think
Phyllis Diller–comedian
Vincent Price–horror movie guy
Valerie Harper–vaguely familiar name, probably an entertainer because most of the ones I know on this list are entertainers
Twiggy–sixties model
Ethel Merman–Annie Get Your Gun and Gypsy
Kaye Ballard–no idea
Mummenschanz–heard the word but don’t know anything about it
Giving myself credit for anything beyond “vaguely familiar name” I get about ten.
No idea what links them.
Is he still alive? If so, do you suppose he finds it amusing being the LEAST known muppet host?
He’s dead. Any time you see Eric Idle playing a smarmy TV presenter, I believe he’s doing a Forsyth impersonation.
I don’t need a test to tell me I’m old.
Knew all of them right away except Bruce Forsythe. But on seeing a pic, recognized him.
You’d need a list going back much farther to make it a real test for me.
I recognize Candice Bergen for starring as Murphy Brown, and Vincent Price for his narration on Michael Jackson’s Thriller and some older horror movies. I recognize the name Rita Moreno, but couldn’t name any shows or movies she’s been in. The rest of the names on that list I don’t recognize. As for The Muppets, I avoided the ones from The Muppet Show as much as I could. I found them and still find them creepy. I liked Sesame Street, and I’m cool with Big Bird, Bert and Ernie, Elmo, Cookie Monster, and The Count. On the other hand, Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo, Animal, etc. creeped me out.
I’m 44.
ETA: I just noticed that Florence Henderson, of The Brady Bunch fame, is also on the list, so that makes 3 who I recognize and am familiar with, one that I just recognize, with the rest being unfamiliar.
All but Bruce Forsythe. Source: Muppet Show guests (first season, I think). I know Juliet Prowse was the first..
My age: 71.
Rita was in Singing in the Rain. I believe winner for best supporting actress in West Side Story. Loads of other movies including the new version of West Side Story. She was a star of the reboot One Day at a Time.
She is an EGOT winner. Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.
She is a living legend.
All but Azvanor and Forsythe. 61 last Nov.
I recognized more than half. The only ones I didn’t know were:
Ruth Buzzi, Avery Schreiber and Kaye Ballard
I am between 50 and 60.
I don’t know the people I know from the show everyone else seems to know them from, but from their other work - Cabaret, The Brady Bunch, Murphy Brown, Zoobilie Zoo*, etc… If forced to pick, I would have said some variety show like Sonny and Cher or, yes, the one everyone guessed.
* Yes, I know, he did a lot of other things, but it’s what I associate that guy with.
Me too. I’m almost 61.
Yes, I recognize more that half of the names. I’m 55 y/o.
I’m 50 and got 9. I know more than that in the sense of, say, I know Ben Vereen was an actor, and Ethel Merman a singer, but your conditions required more than that.
The ones I know better than the level of “she was a sitcom actress” are Joel Grey, Rita Moreno, Jim Nabors, Florence Henderson, Harvey Korman, Peter Ustinov, Candice Bergen, Phyllis Diller, and Vincent Price. I do not at all know who Mummenshantz, Juliet Prowse, Sandy Duncan, Bruce Forsythe, Avery Schrieber, or Kaye Ballard are.
I recognized the source of the names right away, which means I did see most of these people on the show but I’ve no recollection of most of them there.
