The Amazing Race 01/06/08 - ""I Just Hope He Doesn't Croak on Us"
I’m pretty sure the previews showed Rachel and TK in the airport with everybody else.

I’ll black that out although it was shown last night, because it applies to next week’s episode.

I missed the previews for next week, so

if they do bunch, then Rachel & TK could easily make it. Well, not easily, they are somewhat directionally challenged themselves. But it is possible.

lorene,

There probably isn’t a good reason why they shouldn’t have aired a new episode last week. Although, it seems to me that a few years ago, they did have a TBC episode the week before Christmas and a clip show the week between Christmas and New Year’s. Of course, given the way that Christmas and New Year’s rotate through the days of the week, assuming a precedent be dangerous.

Mostly, though, I’m irritated with myself, because with a little bit of effort, I could have been better prepared to see a little bit of last week, followed by new events in new places. Instead, I never thought about it before leaving home, never gave it a thought last Sunday–and was surprised and thus displeased to see that I’d missed a new episode.

Yes, and my question was genuine, not snarky. I hope it didn’t sound snarky.

They are so delightfully Zen, aren’t they?

Rachel always looks bewildered to me. That and really, really skinny.

It’s mean, but when TK asked someone at the airport “Have you seen anyone who looks like us come through here?” all I could think was “If she says ‘yes,’ she won’t be talking about the other racers.”

Actually, the last Speed Bump leg had major bunching, with airline drama followed by HOO bunching at the newsstand. In fact, the Goths left the newsstand in first place, which is why they were able to finish the Speed Bump and still catch up with Nate and Jen.

Wouldn’t it be Amazing if a team won the million dollars without ever winning a previous leg? Yeah, I thought so, too.
I seem to recall that Eric & Danielle won the All-Star (producer favorites) season without winning any intermediate leg.

True, but all of the tasks for the leg, and especially the speed bump, were after the bunching.

I always laugh when racers ask that question, and figure the guy with the camera always has to nudge them, because the first version of the question is “Have you seen anyone else being followed by a camera crew?”

But with TK and Rachel, I’m honestly stumped. Isn’t this the 3rd or 4th leg where they haven’t seen another team? Truly strange.

As for next week, hell, the race as a whole, it’s anybody’s guess. Not one of these teams is particularly strong – which certainly makes it a better show to watch! But you know any other top teams from any other season would blast through this crowd like a cannonball.
