I’ve come up with a fantastic solution to the bunching problem: some team needs to grow cojones and jump a fence the next time they encounter a closed gate.
To date the worst penalty the producers have imposed is 30 minutes, and that’s for the serious crime of stealing someone else’s car. Think how much of a leap some teams would have if they had broken into the tower last week and grabbed their next clue, or jumped the fence at the cemetary and found the grave site while everyone else was taking a nap. 30 minute penalty? Doesn’t matter much if you’ve got an 8 hour lead on team number 2…
Of course, there’s a good chance the producers are lazy and wouldn’t have actually installed the clue in the first place, but that’s their problem.
I thought the only penalty so far was for picking up the two clues instead of one. I don’t remember the older couple getting in trouble for taking the wrong car.
I think what they need to do is goto places that have more then one plane. Last weeks snafu didn’t cost the teams anything and it should have cost them big time. I like for them to go to the out of the way places but they should make them drive there or something like that. They should have made them fly into some other large city in Africa and then drive to some remote place. This way you screw up, you could be hours behind and not right there.
They didn’t apply the penalty when Don and Mary Jean arrived at the Pit Stop. But they did apply it afterward and Team Geritol slipped back a place because of it. They explained what happened when everyone was getting their first clue the other week.
I’m comfortably certain that the Racers have to observe posted operating hours or face a penalty. One of the rules is that they must obey local laws, so breaking into a City Hall would probably be outside the pale.
I actually sat here and stared, trying to figure out why “outside the pale” sounded wrong. Then I scrolled down. :smack:
Don and MJ are probably going to have a hard time finding money this week, which utterly sucks. I can take or leave Don, but I get a real kick out of MJ, and I’d be sorry to see her go.
And I hope Lori decides to defend Bolo’s honor and kick the crap out of Hayden. Not because I dislike Hayden or anything, just because it would be funny.
The worst penalty ever imposed was a 24-hour delay in Season 1. Team Momily panicked when they couldn’t find the clue and simply went on to the next pit stop. Team Guido took the Fast Forward yet still managed to come in last place. The 24 hour penalty put Team Momily behind the Guidos, eliminating them from the race.
The worst part of this is that Lori can – and probably would – snap Hayden like a twig, so it wouldn’t even be a good catfight. I mean, if Lori even bitchslapped Hayden, it would knock her into another time zone. Still, I’d pay good money to see that.
