He has fundamental issues with listening to her at all. We were dumbfounded at him asking “What’s that mean?” when she read, “Turn right on to [whatever the street name was]”
Seriously?
Add to that her being such a quick trigger anger hound. Bad team.
I think I can see why she lost it, though, with his incessant nonlistening. She was terrified on the mountain in the Alps, said so, and he didn’t do anything to help her aside from yelling something at her like, “just come on,” as he forged ahead of her. And again during the camel walking. She looked like she really was going to pass out there and really needed a break and he was again like, “just come on,” without checking in and barrelling along. Looked to me like they edited out a real break that I imagine she either forced by stopping and sitting down (I would have done) or possibly the producers making her take a water and rest. She looked too much better once they reached the stop, to not have had a break and a liter of water.
In the car was a last straw for her, and typical of last straws it was something that shouldn’t have been such a big deal.
At the Bedouin tent, I noticed that only the men rubbed noses. What would they have done if one of the all-female teams were still in the race?
Dana is so quick to trigger that I think Matt has just trained himself to tune her out. Probably works most times, but not when you’re driving in an unfamiliar country.
Exactly what I was thinking… the only way he could still possibly stand her is simply by ignoring her. I agree with SeaDragonTattoo that his lack of listening/understanding was a bit too far (she says “turn slight left” “huh?”) but she just goes way too far in response (immediately shutting down and calling him a psychopath). He needs to run from her, far far away.
I suppose it’s possible a team close to them won’t try as hard if they think they can just still whip out the Express Pass if needed.
Up above, I misspoke. It wasn’t Tai who tweeted that he gave Kyle Jason his idol back, it was Kyle Jason. And now Kyle Jason has been ordered by CBS to stop using twitter about the show, for revealing spoilers.
It may also help keep them from getting U-turned. If another team thinks they still have the express pass, they may not want to waste a U-turn on them if they think they can just express-pass through the second detour.
No comments on the last episode? I guess it wasn’t terribly exciting. I hadn’t really noticed that Brody had done so few roadblocks. You figure he could have at least done the strength ones. One more puzzle roadblock could knock them out now.
Also, I haven’t watch the last few seasons. There’s been almost no airport drama this season, to the point where I was surprised it actually showed them buying tickets on this one. Is this pretty much the norm now?
Everyone has always been on the same flight for what feels like several seasons now.
I’m stunned at how far the frisbee dudes have fallen. To go from the clear best team through six weeks to now looking like possibly the worst team still in it is pretty jarring.
I don’t mind seeing them drop out of the top 3. The bearded dude with all the yelling as soon as he gets even remotely frustrated, he’s annoying. And tends to just look like an angry chimpanzee most of the time.
I, too have been thinking the yellow team is going to run a top 3 race for some time. If the dude on that team could calm down on molesting his girlfriend every chance he gets, that would be nice.
The only two who don’t annoy me are Tyler and Korey. I hope they can rally and make it to the end.
Producers have gotten smarter about having pre-arranged flights or going to less-popular destinations. I’ve also heard that, when racers purchase their own tickets, they’re not allowed to exchange them for better flights. Once they’ve bought their tickets, they’re stuck with that flight, which cuts out a lot of the airport drama.
Well, that might be the first time the U-Turn and double U-Turn were used in a smart way.
I wonder how much wearing those life jackets hurt hitting the water. I know the normal sized ones can hurt just jumping off a diving board, I can’t imagine how it might feel at 40 or so feet.
I loved watching that and I was just praying it wasn’t an NEL.
I would really like it if Tyler and Korey won. They’re my favorites.
Less dramas from Matt and Dana last night, although her casually strolling with one chicken and one coconut while he was loaded down with coconuts really irked me.
Yep. When Burnie figured it out, he became one of my favorite players ever.
I’ll be happy if either Burnie & Ashley or Tyler & Korey win for that alone.
