Another thing to remember…often, if a team constantly harps on one subject, it’s actually their mobile producer’s fault.

There was a team on Rob Mariano’s first season that consisted of an Iraq war veteran and his beauty queen fiancee. The veteran talked CONSTANTLY about how this country reminded him of Iraq and that country reminded him of Iraq and camels reminded him of Iraq. It was a running joke online about everything in the world apparently reminding him of Iraq.

Well, it turns out that he said that all the time because his producer kept asking him “How does this location remind you of Iraq?” I mean, what are you going to do, go mum when the producer is prodding you for commentary?

So it’s not always the racers’ faults that they sound like a broken record sometimes.

It’s funny the number of people who don’t play wind instruments who don’t really get what the presence of a spit valve implies. You really have to watch where you walk on a set of band risers after a performance, ya know?

That’s condensation, not spit – despite the name of the valve. I can’t ever remember actually spitting in my trumpet.

Yeah, so I’ll take condensation over snot any day.

Brass players are essentially blowing a tongueless raspberry into that mouthpiece for entire concerts. It may be mostly condensation, but there’s spit in there, too.
