Drew & Kevin, despite a pretty good scramble near the finish, were unable to finish better than fourth, so one of my predictions has come true. (Knew they couldn’t keep it up forever.)
Frank & Margarita are in the driver’s seat, Rob & Brennan are now the scrappy underdogs, and Joe & Bill have a long way to go.
That’s where we’re at; that’s how it’s gonna finish. Anyone else care to make prognostications?
Nuts. Drew ‘n’ Kevin are gone. And they were by far my favorite team. I was really hoping they’d stick it to the Guidos. And up until “Bert and Ernie” were standing in the finish circle, I still thought they were going to lose, what with Drew and Kwein charging through the park. Heck, they were leading at the market (even if by just 2 steps) and finished wolfing down the food first too. And then to get stuck in traffic…it’s the nature of the game. But I’m sad to see them go.
First Momily, then Drew ‘n’ Kev. Ah well. Guess I’ll have to throw support behind Frank and Margureita.
I think the whole point of the show is lost when they have non-elimination rounds. I felt cheated after last weeks episode when no one got eliminated.
I am wondering if I am the only one who has noticed the resemblance between team Guido and a certain radioactive man villain.
So is there one more episode left, or could there be two? I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the final 3 teams have to compete in a two-leg journey to decide the race.
There’s two more episodes left. In the preview for next week’s episode they didn’t make any mention of it being “the final leg”. I’m certain that the final leg will involve them returning to Central Park in NYC and the previews seem to suggest that next week is an all-China affair. The final episode will on Thursday Dec. 13th after Survivor.
And good news for the fans of the show, despite only so-so ratings CBS has agreed to air a 2nd season of the game.
12 of 13 legs are in the books. Now heading for the finish are:
Frank and Margarita, who’ve had a few minor rough spots but have otherwise steamrolled from start to finish. They’re as driven as they were in the beginning and looking very good.
Rob & Brennan, the sheltered lawyers who learned the ways of the race very quickly, which is nothing short of remarkable. This bears repeating: They’ve never set foot outside of their home country before this race. Now they’re back on familiar turf and in a very good position to win.
Joe & Bill, who made some mistakes late and never really recovered. Gamesmanship may have won them a few points in the beginning, but winning on their own merits is a different story, and it showed here. They were behind by nearly a whole day at the start of leg 12 and haven’t improved dramatically. A very long shot for the victory, no matter what Joe says.
And with that, I can all but guarantee that Joe & Bill will not win. Yeah, I know CBS is trying to make it sound like they’re going to catch up and all, but we should all know better than to trust the trailers by now. Even if they do manage to catch up, I still have to favor Frank and Margarita in the final clutch drive. They just seem to have what it takes.
So…anyone going to disagree with me? I breathlessly await your responses.
