The Amazing Race - May 12; "Hei Ho Heidi Ho"

It was easy to see when the goalies stopped trying although Connor still managed to kick the ball directly to them after that point.

I think Rachel when repeating the clue to herself she stopped saying 9 or 11 and started thinking 9 - 11 and thus 10 was acceptable.

In general it was a great episode, lots of action with not much insanity between the teams.

I loved the poem judge

Taxi Assessment:

Stuck in the Desert and Officially Detained - or, Philiminated with extreme prejudice.
Natalie & Nadiya and [del]Bopper[/del] Mallory & Mark and Joey & Meghan and Margie & Luke and John & Jessica and Flight Time & Big Easy and Jet & Cord - (already eliminated)
Leo & Jamal (down from “Passing”) - Wow. Navigation, navigation, navigation. That was really the theme of this episode, with the scale of each team’s navigation troubles through the leg pretty much determining their final standing. (Interestingly, note that there was a time in this episode, after the soccer challenge, that the teams placement was Afghanimals - Brenchel - Singers - Dave & Connor; exactly the opposite of the final placement.) Unfortunately for Leo & Jamal, they had the worst of the navigation problems, and despite a golden opportunity to capitalize on Brendon & Rachel’s mistake, they were too far behind.

Flat Tire - or, not likely to get anywhere soon.
No one

Stopping for Gas - or, not broken-down, exactly, but not a good sign.
No one

“Rapido! Por Favor?” - or, making meaningless ineffectual comments from the back seat, but in no immediate danger.
Caroline & Jennifer (up from “Stopping”) - So now Caroline & Jennifer have a legitimate shot at actually winning the Amazing Race. They actually had a pretty good leg this week, with only a last-minute right turn preventing them from coming in first place. I still think they’re least likely to win it all, but all it takes is a lare enogh slip-up by the other teams.

In the Passing Lane - or, ahead of the pack, but not quite comfortably.
Brendon & Rachel (up from “Rapido!”) - Jesus, Brendon, she said she had a size ten, which makes it just as much your fault as it is hers. Brendon & Rachel are darn lucky that Leo & Jamal got as lost as they did: reading the clue is just the beginning; you still need to act on it. Hopefully for Brendon & Rachel, they can put the boot incident behind them next week.

Cruisin’ with Earl - or, drivin’ on the shoulder, takin’ shortcuts, and generally kickin’ butt.
Dave & Connor (holding steady) - So somehow Connor has done seven Roadblocks so far, which I thought was not allowed, and I’m afraid I’m completely confused. Nonetheless, neither Phil nor anyone else said a word about it, so I guess it’s cool, and Dave & Connor swing into yet another first place finish. The two other strongest final-five teams have been picked off, so Dave & Connor are looking pretty good going into the final.

I couldn’t tell from the preview, but are they sky diving into the finish line?

Whatever it is, it looks interesting.

I think Dave did 1, 2, 5, and 6. Not sure about the rest.

The chart on the Wikipedia page for this season’s race shows the last three teams with 13 total roadblocks. (Dave has 6 and Connor has 7.) Leo and Jamal only have 11 total, so there must be two roadblocks in the final leg that they are counting for the final three teams. Dave probably has to do both roadblocks on the last leg.
