Here’s the AP:

I saw this link, tried it, and it kept crashing. I was paranoid that somehow I ended up on a bad site. That’s when I decided to come here.
It’s still crashing for me after a few minutes and none of the links work. I’ll keep trying. Thanks

Hairless Joe and Lonesome Polecat were once depicted throwing a typewriter into their boiling cauldron of Kickapoo Joy Juice “for vitamins A to Z”, along with a whole live horse “to give it body”.

I don’t know them. I know Toothless Joe and One-Arm Bob tho.

My grand-daughter works in a Redneck Riviera Restaurant (Pensacola FL) where the customers are preoccupied with Trump. Their common view is:

The Biden administration is an exotic threat that looms over the US like a meteor strike.
They don’t understand why Covid19 did not end on 3 Nov. Also the coin shortage should have ended with it.
Trump won the election by a landslide.
The Democrats then stole the election by massive fraud.
Currently we are just waiting for Trump’s lawyers to untangle the legal mess.
In January, Trump will be inaugurated for his second term.

These folks wear Trump gear and have Trump flags on their cars. A few trucks have stanchions in the bed with large Trump and US flags. They leave $2 Space Force bills for tips.

Cross-posting from the Election Eternity thread:

There’s more at the link.

Personally, I’d have no problem with NC sending Biden electors in lieu of the A-HFS electors that the voters chose. Voters in NC are being dumbasses anyway.

What I foresee is at some point, the governor (or whoever normally certifies elections and sends electors) throwing their hands up and concluding that it’s a waste of time to deal with Trumpists who are merely attempting to disrupt and obstruct, and then attempting to take executive action to finish the process. And then that’s when we’ll hear claims that the election was stolen, that the recount wasn’t finished, and that the proper procedures were not followed and that an entirely new slate of electors should be chosen.

It’s not a coordinated effort, but clearly there is an increasingly widespread attempt to disrupt and delay the process and then claim that the process of auditing or recounting wasn’t finished and that this proves that the Democrats “stole” the election or have something to hide.

Pennsylvania just got cleared up:

Biden should leak a story that he is measuring the WH for tenting by Orkin on 21 Jan to remove any viruses or other pests.

And Pennsylvania GOP Senator Pat Toomey issued a statement that Biden won the election and urging Trump to end his legal challenges.

They’re already calling him “Cucker Carlson”, after YEARS of adoring admiration and re-posts of everything he said and did. Amazing how quickly they turn on anyone who dares to dissent from their narrative.

I think this is a good start.

But seriously, there is probably no saving the Republican party at this point. It is in the throes of a full-on Nazification, and it must be destroyed. The most responsible thing that Republicans who oppose Trump’s takeover of the party can do is to leave the party and let it die. That is their only option. The idea that Trump is going to make the party suffer at the polls because he’ll hopefully one day cross some magic line that will make voters reject him is wishful thinking.

Sometimes people need to be told how to think, or at least influenced to that end, and that is what I think leaving the GOP might achieve. The “never Trump” contingent would be better off leaving and becoming independents and vowing never to vote Republican until the party goes virtually extinct. If they can do that, then eventually whatever is left of the party will have a comparatively weak election apparatus. The fundraising will dry up. They will be less political potent. They will have to seek alliances to remain viable, and then when that time finally comes, that is when the real conservatives can have the leverage they seek. They could then say “You want my help? You want my leverage? Leave my fucking party first and then we can talk about your place in it. We can get tax cuts and fight regulation and Obamacare but not until you get back to the silent fringe.”

Or just starting a Conservative Party.

That’ll never happen. They want to be influential, and I get that. I think becoming an independent and waiting out the storm might be a practical option.

I think the important thing about Toomey’s statement is that, even though he’s from a swing state, he’s no moderate. He’s as doctrinaire conservative as they come. This could open up the door for more establishment Rs to publicly recognize reality.

Of course, he’s also previously announced that he will retire at the end of his term, so he doesn’t have to worry about a primary challenger.

And circle gets the square!

And this has been the pattern over the last 4 years: people finally get a spine…on their way through the exit. It’s like flipping off a pedestrian as you’re driving 90 mph past them - lots of courage that takes.

I commented to somebody (“on another network …”):

To the unfailingly loyal Trump supporters … I do have to ask: is there anybody – even a single soul on earth – who could disparage Trump and whose opinion you’d respect and whose name you wouldn’t (like Trump) tarnish ? If it were Ivanka, Eric, Mary, or Don Jr., you’d call them TINO – Trumps In Name Only. If it were Jared Kushner, you’d point out his religion. Melania ? She’d just be a ‘bitter, ungrateful [insert your favorite misogynistic pejorative here].’

You try and you try and you try to avoid comparisons to Germany in the mid-to-late 30’s, but …
