I’m just so fucking SICK of that vast chunk of America that is just, sorry, stupid. Ignorant, mindless, stupid and braindead.

It’s one thing if you have studied the issues closely and have, (unfathomably, but whatever) purposefully chosen the right wing platform. Then your pants-wetting over Koko’s every act is logical. Bizarre, but logical.

It’s you middles, you swayables, you can’t-make-up your-fucking-mind-and-blow-with-the-wind folk… what the hell is wrong with you?

You piss me off regularly, but this week is just driving me mad, and this morning I’ve feel positively stuffed to the gills with your idiocy.

You are the people who cause the “bumps” in the polls when something like Saddam getting caught occurs, or we have a couple months of less than horrible economic news. You are the mental midgets being appealed to when some dumbass remark is made that can be misinterpreted, you are the reactionary pea-brains that have to be catered to and placated. But fortunately for the politicians, you are like a nation of “Memento” people that can barely remember what you had for breakfast, much less what you felt passionate about last Wednesday morning.

In some ways, living in the now is to be admired…but not when it comes to the running of nations! Jesus fucking christ… you people said last week that you didn’t think GW was doing such a hot job as president…they find LiceBoy living in a ditch, and suddenly Koko is King? What was your POV based on last week? The fact that Saddam was NOT caught? Somehow I doubt it.

I think I’ve really come to the conclusion that you guys are worse than the right. At least they believe based on a cohesive set of ideals and principles. You middles are just weak minded…and yes, stupid.

But before you do, I’d just like to say that I have not personally noticed anyone on these boards who fits into the category I have just bitched about. I have never noticed any of you saying one week “Bush sucks” and the following week saying "Bush Rocks”. - so I ain’t talking about any of you (that I’m aware of, anyway), and any offense you take is on you. The political participants of the SDMB are lots of different things, but feathers on the wind is not among them.

I do not understand the poll shifts, either. It isn’t like Bush was personally combing the desert (Man, we ain’t found shit!) or Dean swore on the Bible that we’d never find Saddam.

Its emotional, we are a very emotional people. It is very hard for us to look at a sitting President and see…well, the terrible truth, in this particular instance. Show them a man who is intellectually incurious and prone to rash decisions, and they will see a “guy”, a straight from the shoulder, no-nonsense “guy”. Because they want to. Making “decisions based on gut feeling” is virile, masculine, and Republican. “Using intuition” is, of course, effeminate, wussy and Dem. The fact that they are precisely the same thing is of no consequence.

Tell they have been lied to, and bullshitted, and you will have to prove it over and over and over. They want to believe.

I’m pretty much a centrist and I’m getting fed up with the idiocy. It’s one thing to honestly hold different ideological beliefs but it’s quite another to passively accept blatant inconsistencies and lies. It might be politics in the sound-byte era but it sucks.
I truly don’t understand how even moderate Republicans can still support Bush, much less swing voters. The man is, at best, a raving incompetent and his actions have favored increased government interference and power over individuals. It’s damned depressing that the whoopla seems to obscure even that. It’d be different if Bush’s rhetoric even matched his deeds.

The vast majority of people are sheep or stupid. It’s a sad sad fact but you just have to deal with it. I remember the last election my friend would say things like “Gore is going to take away all my guns!” I always invisioned Gore kicking the door down and riping it out of his hands. Even after I carefully explained how there’s no way a conservative congress is going to pass anything but the most softball bill on gun control (well even a liberal congress won’t either) that’s the only issue he cared about. Nothing would change his mind. sigh

Bush could, theoretically, find WMD’s in Iraq, personally kill Osama bin Laden and cure cancer, and the leftist extremists wouldn’t vote for him.

Likewise, we could theoretically find out that Bush knew about 9/11 and let it happen so he could go whack Saddam, and some rightwing extremists would still vote for him.

The tards are at the extremes, blinded by their own ideology/religion/ego. They’ll never be swayed or admit the notion that perhaps they could be wrong.

Stoid, one of the chief reasons that I am a moderate is because (especially in my (and your) home state) it seems that one of the rules for being a liberal/conservative is that you have to regard anyone who hasn’t found The Enlightened Path as being beneath you.
