Actually, how about Paige coming to Henry’s rescue!
Also, is it just me or is Henry morphing into a cross between Keanu Reeves and Wesley Crusher …
** I’d like Henry brought in this season. Not sure how - but I’d also like him to react in a much different way than Paige does.**
Judging from the promo for the next episode, you may get your wish, as there was a shot of Stan and Henry at Stan’s office. Remember when Henry a couple of seasons back said he had an interest in working for the FBI? That may be more prominent coming up.
I, too would also like to see Henry react differently from Paige. That would make it interesting. If Henry gets more and more into the idea of working for the FBI, and if he is motivated by at least some sense of patriotism, then he might not be as sympathetic to mom and dad as his increasingly gullible older sister.

Well, as long as we’re taking credit for things, I mentioned a while back that if they did a “Where are they now?” coda to the series that Henry was working for the FBI to take the place of the agent his father killed.
That would certainly be a good outcome for Henry…I hope you are right.
Only civil marriages had any legal validity (still the case in Russia & even Western European countries like France or Germany). If the couple’s budget allowed weddings could be quite elaborate, occurring in specially contracted “wedding palaces”, include a reception, and could end with a limousine tour of the city where the bridge would deposit her bouquet at a local war memorial. Religious weddings weren’t prohibited, though having one openly could bad for your career (or thrown out of the Party if you were a member). Phillip had to take what he could get re staging a wedding; having Claudia pretend to be a civil register would just look ridiculous.
I speculated up-thread that there may be someone we don’t know about grooming Henry (with Claudia almost certainly involved behind the scenes) that is behind his recent changes. Now I’m wondering if it could be that Stan’s new girlfriend, who I suspected was an illegal before Phillip did, could be involved in that. If he’s still been spending a lot of time with Stan, she’s had to have been around a lot.
It almost seems like the show is intentionally not showing us what’s been going on with Henry so that we’ll be right along with P&E when they find out. The KGB getting an asset into the FBI would be an almost irresistible thing…
Barely two days after Evgheniya spills the beans to Elizabeth about how difficult life is in America she gets a surprise visit from the Soviet embassy telling her “oh, by the way, if you ever feel like you want to come home, all is forgiven.”
Totally not suspicious.
I did like the composition of the last scene in the darkroom, with the low angle shots of them all looking up intently at the photos while they are bathed in red light, like they are a family on a Soviet propaganda poster. Kind of a nice visual reflecting how much deeper Paige is getting involved.
If there were an Emmy for least convincing portrayal of housework, Paige’s mopping would be a shoe-in!
I really like the character and think the actor is doing a brilliant job with him. A spin-off series of Oleg the KGB dude as the Soviet Empire slowly falls apart around him would be pretty good - I’d definitely watch it!
Yep, very clever to use the red glow of the darkroom, reminiscent of Soviet posters.
Also, the director seemed very keen to spend a chunk of the wedding sniffing around Elizabeth’s jean-clad arse. Fair play, clearly the best arse at a wedding since Pippa Middleton.
I’m becoming fixated on Tatiana, it might be the 80s flicked hair look. Or it might be the fabulous body under that huge coat. Doubt we’ll see her again.
I would bet a lot of money this is not in the cards, especially after Jared (full disclosure: I also scoffed at predictions about Jared being his family’s killer).
But the writer of the episode said this was the moment Paige decided Pastor Tim was full of shit.
Don Draper wrote: “Oleg really ought to get his own spin-off series about his exploits in the waning days of the Soviet empire. I like the character and his storyline, but it is essentially a separate narrative at this point.”
Better Call Oleg?
That’s exactly how young people would see it.
You have to be a parent/mature/whatever to see it is your job to make the kids feel good about themselves - she’s a mid-teen female for gods sake, every day is an enormous drama, usually based around doubt, insecurity and esteem.
Had Paige not known about the diary entry, she would have taken comfort in what he said, as was the intention.

I am slightly worried he may be heading towards a Nina type demise … back of the head, this time gangsters …
I would love to see us seeing Phil* going into the FBI office, meeting with some senior guy, and then suddenly answering his cell phone…actually that’s not Phil, that’s Henry and he is an undercover SVR officer working as an FBI agent, but he works in cybercrime and he is investigating Hillary’s emails.
*They series has done a good job, the young actors do resemble their “parents” well.
Hell, the fashions are so similar that we could easily use the same wardrobe.
I doubt that’ll happen, but it would be hilarious if it did. Especially if the wasn’t clear beforehand if Henry had been successfully recruited.

Why is The Center insisting that P&E keep managing the scientist and accountant? They have what they need. What more can they get out of them?
This Paige drama is just painful to watch. I find myself wishing they send her to Russia to attend KGB spy school so she can finally have her ass handed to her, quit whining and grow the fuck up. Brat.
That’s part of why I suspect that Claudia is up to something that affects P&E but they don’t know about. Could be a Stan’s girlfriend op, could be the groom-Henry op, or it could be something more that relates to either/both of those. Whatever it is, it seems pretty clear that she’s not only trying to keep them busy and distracted, but she might also be trying to drive them apart. That could also be about project-Paige, where an enthusiasm-gap between Phillip and Elizabeth seems to be emerging.
ETA: If the Centre were to find out about their secret/real marriage, they may not be very enthused. They’re supposed to be *pretending *to be a loyal husband and wife, actually *being *loyal to each other might be problematic.
I’ll also cast some suspicion on Tuan’s repeated pleas for P&E to spend more time with him. I think we’ll find that recommendation came from Claudia. She’s up to something(s) that she’s worried about them catching onto if they spend too much time at home.
I doubt it. Tuan isn’t working for the Russians. He’s working for someone else (Chinese and/or Vietnamese) with the Russians.
It’s one thing to ask another country to go in with you on an op. It’s quite another to ask another country to spy on your spies for you.
