Yeah, you’re right. I’ve been quaking in the corner. Now I’ve managed to stammer out a response, I hoped you wouldn’t read it, cos I was pretty scared as to what your words would do to me. I’ve already taken several days off work due to your unkind words in the past.
The “information” I posted was a viewpoint by an American comedian. Comedians often use slight exaggeration to make their point, something I’m amazed I need to tell you. At no time did I claim to have written that myself, merely used Hicks’ text to illustrate my point, as I believe it was relevant to the gun problem in America (read the topic title). When the points are taken out of the comic format, and translated to serious points, with more factual backing (something I never claimed to do, as looks pretty clear to me, looking back through the topic), guess what? You have no problem with them! By all means “fact me 'til I fart!”*, but when I post quotes from statisticians, I’m talking facts, when I post quotes from comedians, I’m probably talking viewpoints. Go figure
- Chris Morris, another comedian, so don’t bother coming back to tell me that you cannot ‘fact’ someone, and that this probably would not cause flatulence. You’re probably missing the point.
