Sometimes little things happen that just seem to make life a little more pleasant. Not often, but sometimes. I just got a notice from my ISP (Cogeco in Southern Ontario) that they are changing their pricing structure. Previously, I was paying $79.95 for 16Mbps service, with a 125GB up/down cap. Now I’ll be paying $59.95 for 30Mbps service, same cap.
Potentially double the speed for less money! And the tech is actually coming out on a Sunday to install the new modem.
Not today, but yesterday I stopped at the grocery to pay my gas bill. I’m on the seasonal-balance plan, so it’s $99 each month. Sitting in the car outside, I open the bill for the first time so I can have my payment stub and cash ready. The bill looked a bit off, and upon examination I found that not only did I not owe them any money for this month, I actually have a $50 credit for next month as well.
They fixed the clock on the 7th Ave overhang at Penn Station. Now I can see if I have enough time to make train from a block away, without looking at my watch.
I’m attending a USPS school in Oklahoma this week (and for the next two weeks, as well). I just got a call about an hour ago that Michaela made Honey-Walnut shrimp perfectly.
I’m looking forward to having her do it again when I get home, and I can have some.
I got my birthday wish From what my dad said most of the people laid off were people who didn’t make attending work every day a big priority.
Having a bladder infection sucks, but now in addition to antibiotics I’m taking a magical pill that makes the pain go away. I could do without the festively colored pee but you can’t have everything.
I was worried about a training at work that I needed to score 90% on Friday. I got a 95%
The guys who bulldozed up my back yard to install some landscaping finally finished & left. No more diesel noise, no more mud, etc. Many good things. Now I just hope the re-seeded lawn areas retake well.
Oh yeah, and winter is finally well and truly over.
I am 7 months pregnant, and not only is it going much better than expected (I have medical issues), I am deeply amused by my pregnant bellybutton. It has stretched out to become completely flush with the surface of my globular belly. Also, turns out my husband thinks his wife is extra hawt while preggers.
I had to drive across the Valley in LA yesterday, and instead of it taking the hour I’d anticipated, it only took 30 minutes. Also, I was going to a wedding, and I don’t really like attending weddings for the most part, but I had a vaguely pleasant time.
Yeah, when you’re not expecting it, the brightly colored pee can be alarming. As for magical medicines, I’ve had Demerol twice in my life, and I enjoyed it so much, that I’m afraid to have it a third time.
I finally found a hat that I can live with. Those “one size fits almost all” don’t fit me. I just needed a L/XL hat. I’m the proud possessor of a medium brown cowboy hat, which shades my eyes very nicely for when I have to go out in the daytime. I found a nifty feather rosette at a craft store, which accents the hat nicely. My husband is Jealous. I told him to go pick out his own hat decoration. He has several hats of his own.
I was annoyed with a friend for telling embarrassing stories about me, and when I confronted her she apologized and promised to stop without getting upset.
I took a really nice walk and sunbathed for a few minutes on the rocks overlooking the lake.
I went to a party and when the host’s iPod ran out of charge I saved the day by having my own with me.
I had a mammogram today, which I’ve been vaguely dreading for three weeks, when my doctor told me she found something she wanted them to look at. Turns out it’s nothing but normal.
Unskilled labor on an art project, pulled weeds (in three different gardens), bought plants, planted a garden, food for a friend who’s ill, sang alto (yes, this counts as help), watched some kids so their daddy could finish a project, and took food to the local food closet.
I’ve been thinking of it as my mitzvah weekend. Normally I don’t do anything useful on my weekends off.
I’m glad your mammogram came back as nothing. I still need to get mine done.
It’s spring in the Beautiful Land! Here in Bancroft, Ontario, it’s been warm and sunny, but the bugs aren’t out yet, so everyone, including the plants, is just stretching and enjoying the warm sunshine.
