I was sure Santorum was going to come from behind.
But Mitt kept chipping away at Santorum. That’s what happens when you don’t have a moistened toilet handy.
Actually, last night Jon ceremoniously shredded (not) his whole prepared ream [snerk] of Santorum Ass Juice Jokes. “For us, the bit has run its course. From here on out I promise to ridiculeRick Santorum only for his absolutely absurd and sometimes vile political and social viewpoints. You’re welcome.”
OK, the official chronological lineup of anti-Romneys has now been extended:
Palin, Trump, Bachmann, Perry, Cain, Gingrich, Paul, Santorum, Gingrich again, and Santorum again.
And I’ve got to toss the notion of “the last anti-Romney standing” out the window. They get knocked down, and they get up again, you know the rest.
The wingnuts are desperate for someone to vote for who’s not Romney. Romney’s still gonna win the nomination, but the longer the game goes on, the worse the whole party looks. Which is fine by me.
I admit I haven’t been following the primaries since Florida but this latest twist is certainly interesting. Hard to see how it seriously threatens Romney but it certainly makes him look weak and unable to close the deal.
Mormons wobble, but they don’t fall down. There’s dirt down there, you know.
Who else thinks that two states making/affirming the legality of same-sex marriage within a week had an effect on bringing a particular kind of voter out to the polls yesterday?
But as with all things with the GOP Primary, this too shall pass.
It’s never fun to be wrong, but this one really sucks.
Turnout low in latest round of GOP contests
**Bleak news for the GOP. Santorum/Paul/other fringe tend to have their people motivated to turn out. Mainstream moderate candidates not so much. This biases the vote totals in small events like these latest caucus states. Big shows in SC and Florida got the blood flowing and the media lathering. I border two of last nights states and there wasn’t a wimper on the news about the voting. **
All I see is the latest anti-Romney candidate and a lot of voter apathy.
Oh, God, PLEEEEEEASE let this GOP primary season go to a nasty fight on the convention floor. PLEEEEEEEASE!
It seems if Romney isn’t blanketing the airwaves with negative shit about his opponents, he loses.
I live in Tampa and I wanna see Republican riots this August! Just like the Dems in Chicago in '68! Only, with less, you know, dignity than the public might reasonably expect of such as the Yippies.
Frankly, I’m shocked, shocked and sickened that fellow lefties should gloat so disrespectfully about the trials and tribulations of our conservative fellows. Just as we listen politely and respectfully to their points of view, so should we accord them the same respect for their procedures! Shame! Shame, I say!
(There, that ought to shut 'em up for a while…)
PPPapparently has a poll showing a national Santorum lead.
It is astounding to me that the GOP leadership can’t do a better job of managing its candidates. These idiots all act as if they actually had a shot at he nomination.
Based upon what I have seen, I believe my miniature pinscher, Lillipup, would be a better candidate.
At least you can be certain she would never lie to you.
Romney has regained the lead in the Gallup national polls. I think this is the fifth time he has regained the national lead after losing it: to Perry, Cain, Gingrich (twice) and Santorum. You have to believe the circus is finally going to close and Romney will keep the national lead till the end but who can say anything about these crazy primaries?
I’m just hoping for some fun on Super Tuesday that puts Santorum back in the mix for a while. This has been too much fun for it to end this soon!
I think it is Newt’s turn again, isn’t it?
I, for one, would like to see Mixmaster Frothee secure the nomination. That would all but guarantee an Obama victory in the general election. For that matter, I’d actually prefer to see Froth Daddy as president if the other choice is Mittens. A Mittens administration can be expected to continue policies aimed at increasing the wealth of the wealthy and everybody else is SOL. A-Froth, on the other hand, will dedicate himself to futile things like getting the name of the country changed to The United States of Jesus. In the end, he’ll accomplish nothing and go down in history as just another placeholder, quirkier than most, who was POTUS
Y’know, back in 2000, I wasn’t worried about Bush, either, because I figured that he could be relied upon to do absolutely nothing, just like he had in his entire life to date. Be careful what you wish for.
