And that’s pretty much how a cult operates.
This is absolutely correct in this particular case, too: her husband worked in the oil fields, she felt Harris was a threat to his occupation.
It’s heartbreaking that this husband watched his wife nearly die and is voting for the policies that caused it. Like at worst — at worst! — you’d install solar panels, you’d still be alive…
The long entrance ramp for Harris is a little on the nose, isn’t it? She’s a candidate for political office, not the Undisputed WWE Champion.
So long time reader, first time commentor (in about 15 years as I cant access my old SDMB account for a reason or another). I agree with you, but considering Trump is loved by a lot of the WWE audience (remember Linda McMahon was appoitned head of the Small Business Bureau Administration by Trump and Triple H and Steph both showed up to her hering confirmation) perhaps this was delibrate…
Too bad the Trump arena footage showed seating (I’m pretty sure) only behind the stage - no? (I’m relatively sure if they had aimed the camera out front it still would’ve showed a significant difference in turnout. Certainly would bave been surprised otherwise)
Any legit newsgathering organization should routinely have its cameras scan the entire crowd as part of basic truth in reporting.
Something like this?
That’s priceless! The nosebleeds are empty, the lower bowl is maybe half-full, and people are walking out. Good for that camera operator.
The upper bowls being empty might well be a legit decision by the venue and the renters = the campaign to only open the levels they need for their expected crowd. IOW if the stadium holds 15K per bowl and has 3 bowls, they rented the lowest one only for an expected 12K crowd.
Now the lie of course is then saying we filled Stadium X with 45K seats when they only could have actually accommodated 15K people in the 1/3rd of the stadium they’d actually rented.
And of course claiming they filled even that when it’s patently untrue is further lie.
Newsgatherers, even at the camera operator level, have an obligation to record the truth even if the suits sometimes decide not to publish the footage.
Heh. I’ve seen that same trick at wrestling shows with lower-than expected attendance - they crowd the audience onto the side of the ring that faces the hard camera, so that on TV the arena looks packed even though they may have only sold 5,000 tickets at an arena that holds three times as much.
Watching that video I realised that was the longest I think I’ve ever listened to him in a continuous, non-channel-flipping manner. What a childish, whiney f***** loser, sounding like a 5 y.o. crying to mommy.
You mean you turned the sound on? What a silly thing to do.
Yes. This is what I don’t get… How his “fans” think that this crying whining sad little toddler show somehow represents “strength”. I mean, just listen to how pathetic he sounds. Yet they lap it up. It’s a mystery.
Bumping things a bit:
IMHO, the exhaustion of the anti-Trump resistance was one reason why Democrats lost 15 million votes from last time compared to this time. People have already been fighting against Trump for eight years and are utterly worn down.
How are they/we going to have the stamina for another four years?
Is that a real thing? Aren’t they still counting votes?
Voting once every four years, or even once every two years, requires very little stamina.
