Well I revived it after a 3-day absence from page one after seeing the link in your sig line in another thread. I knew I hadn’t signed up the first time around so I thought I’d post and bump it back for anyone who missed it too.
I’m almost always on, but usually with an away message. I’m bouvier32, because both bouv and bouv32 were taken.

I have a silly question re:aim. Is there anyway to know if someone adds you to their buddy list?

No. They can add you as soon as they see your name. Which means that if you only want certain people to have your name, you shouldn’t post it here. However, it wouldn’t do them much good unless they wanted to know if you had AIM on or not. They cannot see what you’re doing, what programs you have, anything like that. (Yahoo Messenger, I believe, will send you a message like “SoandSo has added you to their list.” I think ICQ does, too.)
And if you happen to know their name and don’t want them to know if you are on, you can alter your AIM settings to BLOCK that person’s screen name, thereby preventing them from seeing you at all as coming or going on their list.
