Asking someone for a date isn’t sexual harassment; jumping on top of Robyn and doing the wild monkey is.
I thought Trump overreacted with Chris. I didn’t see his comment as disloyal or backstabbing, although he could have made his point more constructively. He was raising a legitimate point–and in a forum where far less substantive, far more malicious allegations have been aired. Trump’s response, “Hey, I’ve got teams that are a mess. I don’t need people reminding me,” sounds like ostrich-speak. If your team has a systemic, ongoing problems that get in its way of success–and this one certainly does–the boardroom is precisely where that problem should be aired. Chris was looking past the cosmetic issues and trying to point out the underlying dynamics. There was really no good point to raise the issue; he couldn’t have done it earlier without sidelining the conversation. Ultimately, Chris hit a raw nerve on Trump and is no doubt on his “must do” list. That said, Chris isn’t my favorite character and the whole group make Bill from last year look like a giant.
Going by Trump (who would definitely know, contracting is his bread and butter) seemed to think that the single biggest mistake by Mosaic was turning a four bedroom house into a three bedroom house. I have to agree with him. I can’t see how effectively removing a bedroom makes the house more valuable. That was Raj’s idea, it was a stupid idea and it was a worse mistake even than hiring the contractor (and it’s not exactly like anyone was objecting very much to the contractor or knew he was going to sit on his lazy ass eating tacos instead of working).
I think Raj, in the end, was all hat and no cattle. He has some charisma and a lot of confidence and he wasn’t completely incompetent but this was the second week in a row that he killed his team with bad ideas and it doesn’t help that he doesn’t have the ability to be self-critical or to recognize when an idea isn’t working. If his plans aren’t going right he always seems to want to redouble his efforts to force them rather than backing off and going to a plan B. If he was in charge of a Trump project with millions of dollars at stake his ego could really lead him into disaster.
I think Raj is someone who would probably do very well at owning a small private business, preferably something where he interacts with the public and can use his personal charm to his advantage (he needs to cut down on the macking, though. That gets old fast) but simple enough that he can’t do too much damage with bull headed ideas. I could see him as a restauranteur, going from table to table swinging a cane, or as an owner of a boutique. He’s not a CEO, though.
I have a real dislike of Bradford. I thought it was just grandstanding, attention grabbing on his part when he went after Kevin. It was stupid. Kevin had just said “I accept responsibility for the contractor.” He didn’t try to make excuses or weasel out of that in any way, and then Baldford starts in with his self-important crap, “You made a mistake, just admit it.”
He DID admit it, you egotistical ass. Go back to the Loser Motel. We are not impressed with your “frankness.”
Jenn is no one to mess with. Not just because she’s aggerssive in the boardroom but because she doesn’t give anyone her chin during the tasks. I can’t think of any real mistakes she’s made and her instincts have been good about avoiding bad ideas. She hated the idea to knock down the wall and she was right. I think she’s got a shot at the final four because of her gameplay, because they’re going to need at least one woman and because she’s the only one who isn’t already a dead woman walking.
Another word up to **Mullinator’s[/] Raj ratings. I’ve come to look forward to them every week.
What Mullinator said – the show should have had much more task footage this week.
How much did they spend? We didn’t see any negotiating – it looked like they just said “Do this work by this date”.
How did they choose the contractors? It looked like one guy just driving by in his truck was given some work to do.
How much time did they have?
I always thought a contractor was the guy who hires other people to do the actual work, that the contractor doesn’t do much except direct traffic, oversee the job. ?
The problem with this show is that decisions that could take weeks to decide in the real world are forced into a two day window in this show.
While the real world forces quick decisions, and one must think on there feet, these conditions are somewhat artificial.
Decisiveness is a virtue in this game (Ask Elizabeth).
But you have to have good instincts to start with.
It reminded me of campaign criticism Kerry made about Bush (without commenting on the merits of such criticism as we are not in GD),
Being resolute on an idea is not a virtue if you only have bad ideas.
I wouldn’t blame Raj for barrelling through once he decided to put a bathroom on the second floor. I would blame him for deciding to do it in the first place.
Kelly, on the other hand, has supreme confidence in his ideas. Follows them through…but they are good ideas.
I could almost swear that Kevin got a referral from someone they worked with on a previous task. He said, “I talked to the guy from [mumble, mumble], and said these guys were really good.”
Yeah, Chris picked a really stupid spot to volunteer as a PM. He’s going to get his ass kicked. Sandy knows how to deal with Bridezillas. Chris isn’t going to have a clue.
Raj’s team picked a contractor based on Kevin’s recommendations.
Sandy’s team picked a contractor out of the phone book. Then the Sopranos “innocently drove by” and offered to help. I think that also boosted morale for Sandy’s team tremendously.
Oh, dear. I hadn’t thought of Crass dealing with a bunch of brides. Who wants to bet we hear a backstage diatribe about how it’s just a fucking dress? With any luck, though, he’ll keep those comments under wraps around the customers. Blood is so hard to get out of white satin.
I thought he called the real estate agent for a recommendation. Either way, he got a referral while Chris just wanted to go through a phone book. Hard to blame Kevin for that.
One more lesson from the firing: When someone pisses off Donald, and he asks you if you want to bring them into the board room with you, you say YES!!!
Maria was only in drydock this week because she had less time on screen than the toilet in the unfinished bathroom. I am completely in the camp that she has no chance of winning. Still, I keep thinking one of the final 4 will be completely undeserving. It’s sort of like Nick in Troy’s place last season. Except this time around, the part of Troy will be played by someone with Nick’s abilities and the part of Nick will be played by moss.
So ladies when a sleazy guy waggles his fingers at you and says “c’mon, give it up.” do you feel an overwhelming urge to scribble down your phone number?
Or maybe puke on him?
Bye bye Raj.
I would say don’t let the doorknob hit you on your ass on the way out, but you’d probably like it…
Raj has his quirks, to be sure, but he’s still a Republican. I doubt he’d like that.
Ivana said Raj “needed adult supervision,” which was someone else’s comment from a previous week – about Ivana herself, I do believe. This isn’t the first time I’ve wished these people were more original with their insults. Raj’s response, “Ivana, my dear…” was entirely called-for, IMO. If anyone needs adult supervision at this point, it’s certainly Ivana. I’m surprised she didn’t get strangled for that remark.
However, Raj really screwed up this one, both the wall knockdown and the unfinished bathroom. I would have totally fired the contractor for sitting there eating tacos – but perhaps it was so late in the game it would have taken too much time to find a replacement. What IS it with contractors, anyway? Trump was right when he said dealing with them is a special skill. What I wonder is why they seem to be such primadonnas so often.
My landlord, who bought the house I rent as his first investment property (and it’s paying off already) said they should have hired an estate agent to come in and give recommendations on what changes, within their budget, would have the most impact. I didn’t notice, did both teams at least paint the entire interiors? Even if the existing paint is all right, that fresh-paint smell is supposed to be enticing to buyers, I’ve heard.
I want Andy to win, youthful or not. He’s the only one I can stand anymore. Except my boyfriend, Wes, of course.
