I understand that the results of the election are a reasonably good match to the overall polls in the year before the election. In general, Biden won the states he was leading in the polls and Trump won the states he was leading in the polls. There may have been a state or two that were close and the election results were slightly different, but not enough to have changed the national winner from one candidate to another.
If Trump had been winning solidly in the polls in a number of states that he then lost in the election, then I would think that there might be legitimate reason to look into further, but the election results are consistent with the polls.
If you remember, Trump starting whining about the Democrats stealing the election something like two or three months before election day, maybe more. The campaign committees knew how they stood and that Trump had a real uphill battle on his hands. Trump was just trying to build a fiction that he should have won.
Sure, Trump had his fans making noise, but what he needed were people not his fans supporting him and that didn’t happen.
TLDR: Trump was not a good candidate and didn’t have what it took to win the election.
You know, with so many attempts to overturn the election, recounts and audits and so on it’s difficult to follow the details of every case. There’s something important I’m missing here.
Cyber Ninjas was a firm hired to audit the results. They did so. They conducted the audit impartially. The result confirmed that Trump lost. In fact, they found a slightly higher margin of losing. They reported their findings honestly.
Why are they the bad guys again? I missed that bit.
I believe that they found that Biden’s Arizona win was by a larger margin than previously reported. This does not excuse any of their bullshit, or the distrust that it has sowed among the rubes regarding election integrity.
They did find that Trump lost despite an absolute shitshow of an “audit”. Their methodology was outright delusional and much of the time they didn’t actually understand what they were looking at. The fact that they ended up with a result similar to the one already repeatedly verified probably owes a lot to them not being smart enough to come up with a plausible reason to differ from it.
Which was the actual point of the exercise. It was never about delivering Arizona for Trump; it was about undermining faith in democracy.
Also, nobody seriously entertains the notion that the margin of victory was actually that big.
I think right after they announced those results, somebody found boxes with about 16000 ballots they just never found or counted.
Cyber Ninjas basically made up numbers. They were neither impartial nor accurate. It doesn’t matter that the ‘win vs lose’ result matched reality.
Somebody checking a stopped clock and announcing the correct time is neither accurate nor impartial. Especially the case if they move the hands to the correct time before checking it and then proceeding to announce the clock is in working order.
Right. It should be noted that their report also included numerous false claims e.g. that some voting machines were connected to the internet, that data had been deleted from the EMS server prior to the audit etc etc.
There was no “count” that would give the county to Trump, so this was the best they could do for their sponsors.
In the end they are not as much the bad guys as most of the GOP or FOX at this point (and note that many MAGAts now consider them to be part of “the steal”), but they are far from the good guys either.
Yes!! Precisely the quote I was thinking of but did not bother to go find and reproduce.
Thank you so much for posting this! For those who have read the book recently, this is the culmination of an entire chapter devoted to her inhumanity, privilege, and abuse of a position of power. Everything describing her sounds like Republican tactics to me!
Heck, Trump was whining about the Democrats cheating in 2016. I really think there’s something to the theory he didn’t expect to win, he just wanted to use outrage over Hillary and his imaginary “voter fraud” to start his own cable network. Instead, he won, and banked up all his fraud claims to use in 2020 instead.
Not associated directly with the “Fraudit”, but surely related to the effed up State Republican Party here in Arizona:
An interesting side note is that a strong senatorial challenge to Mark Kelly (Jim Lamon; link below) has signed the false slate of electors. Ideally, he will win the Republican nomination for U.S. Senator, then be convicted of sedition and not be allowed to serve and receive very few votes if any. That would preserve that one Senate seat; Kelly should win anyway but it is hard to trust Arizona voters. Perhaps that has happened in other states where a false slate of electors have been submitted. It would be a nice change of pace if the cheating the Republican Party is constantly doing led to their undoing rather than to them consolidating their power further through extra-legal means.
Here is just one of his adds:
The rest are as or more offensive and dishonest and also available on YouTube.
Well he did sign a false slate of electors knowing full well that the Biden electors had been certified. What he is charged with that keeps him from running for or holding office is less important to me than the hope he will be convicted of something serious.
I will join with you in daring the DOJ to take action; you don’t have the guts attorneys! Consider yourselves shoved in the lapels as well !
