The Bank of Nigeria Wants To Send Me a New Mastercard!

What a deal-no annual fee, and points on all the stuff i buy!
All I have to do, is send them my SS#, ,name, address, and three credit references-then I get my card (pre-approved credit to $150,000)!
Really, sounds like the scammers have come up with a new racket.
BTW, I didn’t open the email-the title alone was enough for me.
Has anyone else seen this new scam? How does it work?

how does it work?

I dunno. Let me do a little research

Oh hey, according to this site:

So I’m guessing that’s it.

You get the card, and it’s pre-loaded with debt!

I’ll be one of your references. Do you need my name and ss#, too?

Could it be that the catch is it’s in Zimbabwean dollars? $150K won’t even pay for lunch. Then they get you with fees for going over the limit.

On my TV here, the Union Bank of Africa has ads all the time. Every time I see it, I wonder how a real African bank deals with the natural suspicion everyone has.

It would be quite fun to have a genuine, legit, Bank of Nigeria credit card and see how many places would let you use it.

Looks like several Nigerian banks issue them, but the only one with the all-important country in the name is the Union Bank of Nigeria.

Although First Bank’s elephant-themed cards are quite cool.
