The entire island isn’t under the control of the US military. Unless things have changed drastically since I worked there for about half a year, the entire British Indian Ocean Territory, including the island of Diego Garcia, is under the control of the British Armed Forces. The American military members there are under the control of both the British and the US military.
Sounds like a new euphemism: “Drop trou and conduct insertion”.
Practice.
Yes, but how are you ever going to get Wesley Snipes to say, “Always bet on Red”…?
Love the website name…
Jorge Garcia was the actor - the character was Hugo Reyes, or"Hurley".
Frankly, I was wondering if Siri would work in this type of situation.
Aside from the hard-to-believe idea that he’s supposed to have stashed the phone internally, the story is that the guy was able to select the camera icon, take the photo and then select the message or email icon, write out that message (including parentheses, capitalization and punctuation) and send it, all while blindfolded. I’m starting to get a little suspicious about this story.
And also, doesn’t the iPhone have a camera flash?
Who’s going to notice the flash where he put it?
I just want to mention that Diego Garcia was used as a forward base for B-2 bombers, so for sure it has a runway that could accommodate a commercial airliner. That actually makes this (really silly) claim more plausible than ideas that the plane was landed on a runway on the middle of the jungle somewhere.
Plus, Diego Garcia is in the general direction that the plane was last known to be flying in…
That made me giggle. “Flllrt”. “I’m sorry, but I don’t understand that.”
IIRC, DG has hangars large enough to accomodate B-52s so a 777 would be a snap.
Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
