The Belko Experiment

I had seen a trailer for this earlier this year and it looked interesting. It came out on DVD and I watched it and it was actually pretty good in a B Movie Cheezy kind of way. The premise is simple if far fetched: an office building is isolated and all the people inside are told that if they don’t kill x amount of people, almost all of them will die. It starts how you would expect and spirals into a crazy kind of Grindhouse movie.

It’s worth checking out if you like that sort of thing. It’s written by James Gunn of Guardians of the Galaxy fame. I suspect it will get a cult following as people discover it. I don’t want to over sell it but if you like violent B movies, it is your cup of tea. Anyone else see it?

Bumping this thread from the summer since this movie is on cable this month.

I’ve seen it, got the bluray on impulse last month. Really enjoyed it apart from the ending, was hoping for something clever not the usual cliché.

Recently watched The Belko Experiment. Extremely disturbing & well-done. Also, quite horrific, especially because I can easily see something like this actually happening; I also feel that if something like this were to happen, the people involved in “the experiment” would probably act very similar to the way the characters did in the film.

Though the film had a lot of gruesome violence, I didn’t feel that any of it was gratuitous.

The tracking chips had been implanted in people in the film (at the start of their employment in The Belko Corporation) have occurred in real-life.
