The Best Beer You've Ever Had...

Maybe not the finest in the world, but I’ll vote for Celis - brewed just down the road

According to broad categories, here is my list:

Stout – Guinness or Murphy’s Irish Stout
Wheat – Hoegaarden or Franziskaner (heck, really
I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad Weissbier)
Porter – Sam Adams Honey Porter
Lager – Sam Adams Boston Lager and Heineken (the brown-bottled variety you get in the Netherlands. I’m not trying to be an elitist here, but there is a world of difference between that and the shit they export to the States. I used to hate Heineken until I had it in Holland.)
Pilsner – Budvar or Urquell
Ales/Bitters – Fuller’s ESB, Tetley’s Bitter, Bass (once again, the product you get in a pub is totally different than in the States, mainly because the beer has to travel under pressure. In England, all ales should be totally flat and pulled from a hand pump.)

Actually, ales really need their own subcategories, but we’ll forego that.
