Can anyone suggest a good recording on CD of the St. Matthew Passion? I’d like to listen to it this week.

I highly recommend Nicholas Harnoncourt’s second recording on Teldec. There are other good ones, but in my opion this is the performance with the highest achievement in terms of drama, interpretative consistency, and techinical polish.
