The 'Big Bang' is a shared hallucination

Our Universe is a larger version of a galactic polar jet.

Was the universe born spinning?’

“The universe was born spinning and continues to do so around a preferred axis”

Our Universe spins around a preferred axis because it is a larger version of a galactic polar jet.

‘Mysterious Cosmic ‘Dark Flow’ Tracked Deeper into Universe’

“The clusters appear to be moving along a line extending from our solar system toward Centaurus/Hydra, but the direction of this motion is less certain. Evidence indicates that the clusters are headed outward along this path, away from Earth, but the team cannot yet rule out the opposite flow. “We detect motion along this axis, but right now our data cannot state as strongly as we’d like whether the clusters are coming or going,” Kashlinsky said.”

The clusters are headed along this path because our Universe is a larger version of a polar jet.

It’s not the Big Bang; it’s the Big Ongoing.

‘Dark matter’ is now understood to fill what would otherwise be considered to be empty space.

“A long standing mystery on where the missing dark matter is has been solved by the research. There is no empty space in the universe. The intergalactic space is filled with dark matter.”

I use the term ‘dark mass’ to describe the mass which fills ‘empty’ space.

Dark energy is dark mass continuously emitted into the Universal jet.

Our Universe is a larger version of the following artist’s image of a galactic polar jet.

Matter is moving outward and away from us in three dimensional space.

‘The Milky Way’s dark matter halo appears to be lopsided’

“the emerging picture of the dark matter halo of the Milky Way is dominantly lopsided in nature.”

The Milky Way’s halo is not a clump of dark matter traveling along with the Milky Way. The Milky Way’s halo is lopsided due to the matter in the Milky Way moving through and displacing the dark mass, analogous to a submarine moving through and displacing the water.

The Milky Way’s halo is the state of displacement of the dark mass.

The Milky Way moves through and curves spacetime.

The Milky Way’s halo is curved spacetime.

The state of displacement of the dark mass is curved spacetime.

The state of displacement of the dark mass is gravity.

You just made Leonard, Sheldon, Penny, Howard, Raj, Leslie, Amy and Stuart cry.

They just need to rename the show to ‘The Big Ongoing’.

Penny, not so much…

Since your last last twothreads on this subject were closed because you weren’t advancing an argument, what do you expect to be different this time around?

Times change. We no longer consider the Earth to be stationary and the center of the Universe.

Not sure if people are ready to give up on the nonsense of the ‘Big Bang’.

*In the beginning the universe was created.

This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Many races believe that it was created by some sort of god, though the Jatravartid people of Viltvodle Six firmly believe that the entire Universe was, in fact, sneezed out of the nose of a being called the Great Green Arkleseizure. The Jatravartids, who live in perpetual fear of the time they call ‘The Coming of the Great White Handkerchief’, are small, blue creatures with more than fifty arms each, who are therefore unique in being the only race in history to have invented the aerosol deodorant before the wheel.

However, the Great Green Arkleseizure theory was not widely accepted outside Viltvodle Six.*-- Douglas Adams, The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe

End of the universe? It’s rubbish. I’ve seen it. Nothing but a gnab gib.

You don’t appear to have.

You were there, too? I was at Hotblack Desiato’s table. He wasn’t much of a conversationalist.

The ‘Big Ongoing’ is more correct than the ‘Big Bang’.

Not a helluva lot, I expect.

On the other hand, witnessing is still allowed in GD.

What we are witnessing is the matter moving outward and away from us in three dimensional space.

What the deuce is it to me?

You say that the 'Big Bang" is a shared hallucination.

If it was, it would not make a pennyworth of difference to me or to my work.

Then why post?

and how is this any different than what the current named theory/principal state?
The Big Bang Theory is the leading explanation about how the universe began. At its simplest, it talks about the universe as we know it starting with a small singularity, then inflating over the next 13.8 billion years to the cosmos that we know today.

Where has anyone stated that the affects of the ‘Big Bang’ are not on going and in 3 dimensions?

wait - “from us” ??? are your proposing that the earth is the center/central point of the 'great ongoing" ???

In the ‘big bang’ space and time themselves are being created/expanding.

Our Universe is a larger version of one of the following. In the following images the matter is moving outward and away from the galactic polar jet emission point in three dimensional space.

http://cdn.phys.org/newman/gfx/news/hires/2012/amultiwavele.jpg

The whole point of the ‘big bang’ is that space and time themselves are being created/expanding.

It’s not ongoing in terms of the Universe still ‘banging’. The ‘bang’ occurred in the past. The ‘big bang’ can’t explain the matter accelerating away from us. The ‘big bang’ can’t explain dark energy.

Dark energy is aether continuously emitted into the Universal jet.

The aether continuously emitted into the Universal jet is responsible for the matter accelerating away from us.

No. From our vantage point we see the matter moving outward and away from us. The matter emitted into the Universal jet prior to us is accelerating away from us. We are accelerating away from the matter which was emitted into the Universal jet after us. From out vantage point, everything appears to be accelerating away from us.

That article was written in 2011 and was talking about a 7% effect out to 600 million light years, so it’s hardly representative of the entire universe, which stretches out over 14 billion light years. While interesting, I don’t see what your point it. Even if the current universe (or parts of it out to 600 million light years) retains it’s initial spin, that doesn’t make it like ‘a galactic polar jet’.

Except that ‘Dark matter’ isn’t really understood at all, except through indirect observation…we know SOMETHING is out there that is allowing galaxies to hold together when our models of them show they should fly apart, but other than that we gots nuffin. And I think you are confusing dark matter with dark energy wrt filling what would otherwise be considered empty space.

And you use it incorrectly.

Yeah, that’s dark energy. See Einstein’s old Cosmological Constant. We don’t know what dark energy is, either, but it seems to be the repulsive force that is accelerating galaxies away from each other. But, yeah, SOME matter and galaxies are moving outward and away from each other, while other super-clusters are rotating around each other and rush towards each other (or own galaxy is on course for a galactic meeting in the next few billion years or so).

No idea what it is you want to or think you are debating in all of this…or how any of this proves or even relates to ‘The ‘Big Bang’ is a shared hallucination’. What does this even mean?? Do you know what ‘The ‘Big Bang’’ even is? It’s not clear that you even understand the basics of the terms you are tossing around, or the basic concepts to even have this discussion…whatever this discussion actually is. :stuck_out_tongue:

Just a dream we dreamed one afternoon long ago.
