It was fun, but Sheldon’s story in particular was predictable. When Arthur told Sheldon to appreciate the people closest to him, I was pretty sure we’d be coming back to Leonard’s abortive hug attempt from earlier. And Biggirl’s comment above is spot-on: every time Sheldon edges a little closer to normalcy, there’s a joke that immediately undercuts it, every. Single. Time. A little more surprising was Leonard and Penny’s material at the funeral, how it wound back to their various marriage proposals and how Leonard toyed with Penny over the car ride home —nice to see him a little more confident and in command.
