The Bill of Wrongs

Here in the United States, we have the Bill of Rights, which guarantees to its citizens such rights as the freedom of the press, the freedom of speech, and the freedom to bear arms.

But that was over two centuries ago. I think it’s high time we created the Bill of Wrongs.

The Bill of Wrongs is a list of things that are Wrong To Do. Now that we have a couple centuries of existence under our belt, our nation has a better idea of what just plain ain’t right.

I’ll start us off with some Wrongs in the field of driving:

It is WRONG for one to cut another off in traffic and then drive much slower than before, just to irritate the first driver;

It is WRONG to drive really slow in the left lane of a multilane highway;

It is WRONG to drive more than a block with one’s turn signal on;

It is WRONG to adorn your vehicle with a bumper sticker so small one must be in the back seat, looking backwards, to read it;

It is WRONG to shave, clip nails, apply makeup, watch TV, or play GameBoy while driving;

It is WRONG to drive with one’s high beams on when there is a car directly ahead, either approaching or moving away.

I live on a fairly busy street, and the following scenario occurs at least once a week.

I go to the end of my driveway. There’s a set of lights about 100 yards down the road, but as it’s a fairly busy street, cars are frequently backed up well past my driveway in the morning. So there I am, at the end of my driveway, waiting to pull out. The light has turned green, then red again, so traffic is slowing to a stop. I’m waiting for someone to wave me out - you can’t miss me, stitting there. Traffic’s backing up, more cars are coming, no one’s letting me out. Here’s the last car that I can get out in front of. If he doesn’t let me go, he’s going to have to stop right in front of me, blocking me in. Does he let me go? No. He doesn’t. He could have, but he doesn’t. Where’s my gun?

Anyways, that should be on the Bill of Wrongs, but I kind of went off on a tangent when I started to think about it. Didn’t mean to hijack your thread. :slight_smile:

Not a problem!
It is WRONG to walk on a sidewalk directly at someone, waiting for them to move, especially if they have nowhere to move.
