I literally never leave the house without a hat, usually a newsboy cap. I’ve never had any serious negative feedback for my hats and I have had plenty of compliments on both my hats and my general style.

You, like me, have Hat Access not available to most folks. There are other types of Hat Access, buy Musician Hat Access sure isn’t bad.
And you, IIRC, have a cool beard. Increases scope of available hats. In my estimation, you could pull off a Richard Thompson Beret™, you rat bastard ;). Those are hard to make work.
Even with my Hat Access, oy, I had to be careful. Old White Guitarist + Wrong Hat + Guitar Face = Home Videos no one wants to see
ETA: By the way, RickJay - nicely put.
Great hats, and yes,* you can wear them*. Anyone can wear a real fedora, assuming you are dressed appropriately. Not one of those horrible hipster trilbies with the narrow brim, made out of godknowswhat and worn with s short sleeved short or flannel shirt, no socks and something “ironic”- but a wide brim wool felt fedora, worn with a suit or similar.
So put on some spiffy clothes, then a matching fedora. You’ll look great.
Now I want to see Ultron in a Fedora.
Dude could totally pull it off! Per RickJay, the MCU brought Spader in for his swagger. Now, he’d have to get cut-outs in the brim to handle his ear-thingies.
Thanks.
I am currently more-or-less clean shaven. I do own and wear berets, I prefer the “civilian” style to the “military” (hatband, no “wick”) type that I’ve seen R Thompson wear. I have an Argentinian thick cotton beret, which is a thing of beauty and a lot cooler to wear onstage than a woollen beret.
But I was talking about just going down the street, shopping, running errands, etc. Newsboy cap is the usual choice. I don’t think I’m particularly confident or charismatic, but since I got used to wearing hats and learned how practical they are, a hat on me is not an affectation, it’s just normal.
So perhaps there are some pathetic shits looking at my newsboy cap and thinking “Look at that guy in the hat, what a showoff” - but I do not care, and if it happens I’m not aware of it. And, clearly the problem is with them, not me. I’m wearing what I like, I’m happy about it, and the only time anyone raises it with me it’s always positive: “Nice cap!”
