RIP Broner’s career. The one result that nobody would have guessed - Maidana by UD.
Broner was fighting dirty (holding arms, shoving, pushing his glove into Maidana’s face during clinches, the hook after the bell after round 11) and I think most people had Maidana winning by a not wide but clear margin but worried that Broner’s potential marketability might give him a decision no matter what happened.
But dang, Maidana with the UD The judge was shit, not breaking clinches fast enough, never deducting from Broner but Maidana pulled through nevertheless. Helluva fight.
For the undercards, Thurman showed that is the real deal and someone to keep an eye on. Shumenov was pretty impressive too.
