The book just came out on September 17th and I just heard about it the day after. I admit, I’m one of the more casual Dune fans, but when I saw what this book was about, I was very happy!
Here ya go!
It looks good to me! (I’m a sucker for thinking machines)! What say you? Or if you’ve already read it, is it as good as it sounds?
Well, I liked some of the previously laid down history for the Dune universe, although I know it was unofficial. The one I liked the best was Holztmann’s demise - he had a partly computerized brain after an accident, and got trapped in an escape pod orbiting a sun. During his centuries-long orbits, he worked out the two theories (the foldspace and the shields), transmitting them on two seperate orbits. On the last orbit, they destroyed his pod because he was partly mechanical.
