The Canadope Café 2016: The North Awakens

Dear fellow Canadians,

I would like to start off the new year with this heartfelt thread to celebrate and discuss all things Canadian. We begin the year with a new government and a new feeling of optimism for our future.

I hope we can work together as countrymen (and women!) to build upon this great country and find room for acceptance and compromise. It’s no secret that I’m a Conservative supporter, however Canada will be just fine under our new PM. I like his cabinet and am looking forward to what changes may come around.

The Syrian refugee commitment is something I totally support, as an immigrant myself.

Bonne année et bonne santé.

Doug

Well, not quite midnight here in Alberta, but close enough. Happy New Year to all my fellow Canadians, and best wishes for 2016!

Happy New Year my fellow Canadians!

Here’s to another great year!

Happy New Years from Thailand!

It’s gonna be an awesome year, I can feel it!

Happy New Year! All the best to everyone for 2016!

Here in the GTA, we’re starting the year off with a bit of a snow squall, so all is right with the world! Merry New Years, everyone!

Happy New Year!

I’m hoping you have a good year Emily. Maybe we can meet this year.

Happy New Year, one and all. I’m thinking about brewing a pot of coffee and watching the first sunrise of the year.

Who knows. I’m not that far from Ottawa.

I watched some local musicians here in Montreal last night for New Year’s Eve. Nice music, though it was very, very crowded and I was a bit worried about making the last metro (subway) on time, but it all worked out.

Happy Nude Rear!

Happy New Year, everyone; I’m hoping everything is well with all of you. May your worst day of 2016 be like your best day of 2015!

Good to hear from you! Lang may yer lum reek! (As usual!)

Heh, I’m 1/4 Scottish. And 1/8 Irish, 100 % Canadian… and bad at math.

Nice to see you, Ministre.

Happy new year! I’m awake, really!
:: thud :: zzzzz

My daughter is back from her grammie’s house and circus class starts again today. Back to work tomorrow. No school tomorrow due to a PD day so my wife is not quite back to normal yet. No more relaxing until our Hawaiian vacation in March.

My son came yesterday home from his ritual spoiling at the hands of my parents. He turned 12 a few weeks ago, so this was his first chance to take the ferry alone.

I was a wreck while waiting for the ferry. But Horseshoe Bay is certainly pretty enough. I sat outside, drank coffee and soaked up the January sun.

Then we drove back home on a thick fog. Strange weather.

I’m a couple of days late…but Happy New Year to my fellow Canadians from foggy, frosty Vancouver.

All the Christmas tree decorations are down and I just took the tree to the chipper. So sad…

And yours as well! Things are good with you, I dare hope?
