[OT]The neighborhood in Philly where I live is where Grace Kelly grew up. Last year the local parish church, St. Bridget’s, celebrated its 150th anniversary, and Prince Albert came to represent his mother at the ceremonies. I thought that was really cool.[/OT]
[More OT]Grace Kelly was the niece of George Kelly, one of the leading playwrights of the early 20th century. I saw The Torch Bearers at the Barrow St. Theater. It was great and Mel Brooks was sitting in the row ahead of me![/More OT]
Barney Martin, the former New York City police detective whose sense of humor allowed him to become a comedy writer for television and an actor best known for his role as Jerry’s father Morty on Seinfeld, has died at the age of 82.

Must report too that my 23 yo daughter thinks we’re a sick bunch to make up these death lists each year, and she also thinks that the Pope is puposely -not- going to pass on because so many have his name on their list! That being passed along (so to speak …), I still believe that 2005 will be the year of a New Pope.

Paul Henning, who wrote The Ballad of Jed Clampett as the theme for the Beverly Hillbillies TV series he created, died yesterday at the age of 93. Henning also created Petticoat Junction and served as executive producer of Green Acres.
Well there’s a name I didn’t expect to see… what a shock. My first thought was “Dead? I didn’t even know he was ill”, but I see they’re now talking suicide.
