The Celebrity Death Pool 2005

Andre Norton, who wrote over 130 books during her ninety-three years and is best known for her Witch World series of novels, died today in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Did anyone have Terry Schiavo?

She’s not dead yet! (At least, I can’t find anything that says she’s dead as of right now.)

No, I just meant, will anyone get points if today’s decision is final?

No one probably picked him (as he would have been worth -1 point), but George Kennan is dead at 101.

I saw a couple of people put her on the list. I thought it was really sick to take advantage of such a situation. And I was pissed that I didn’t think of it…

My apologies for not yet posting a proper scoreboard update this month. None of the newly-dead celebrities mentioned in the thread since my last post here were picked by anyone, so nothing has changed AFAIK. Mehitabel, I did catch your post about HST and updated my master scoreboard accordingly.

I hope to have an update sometime this week. I hope. Hang in there, Your Eminence…

I thought there were a couple of people who picked Delorean.

I had DeLorean on my original list that I lost.

I think I need a flux capacitator, stat!

I’m really not sure how I managed to live so long without realizing that the good doctor shared a monogram with Harry Truman.

It isn’t likely that anyone (other than a couple of the NY-area Dopers, perhaps) had him, but Bobby Short (longtime fixture of the Carlyle Hotel) is dead at 80.

I (and psychobunny, since ours was a joint list) had John DeLorean. And I noticed that he was not included in the unique picks list, so someone else must have had him as well.

Yay! Still a SpoilerVirgin, but no longer a Death Pool Virgin.

I do! I do!

And while I’m not unmindful of the pain that all of this is causing to her family, I could really, really use the points.

Prince Rainier of Monaco is threatening to make an appearance on the scoreboard.

Isn’t there a problem with Albert succeeding to the throne if he hasn’t married?

Pardon my extreme ignorance and laziness, but is there a master sheet of everyone’s picks on line that can be linky’d too?
I can’t remember who the heck I picked.

<--------------------Is an embarrassment to the Dead Pool People Pickers Union #111!

Really? I have a printout taped to both the work monitor and the home monitor.

I’ve had some interesting conversations with people who want to know the significance of “1. Dick Button, 2. Fidel Castro, 3. Carol Channing…”

You are my hero.
