The Celebrity Death Pool 2006

My 2007 list is ready. As long as Abdelaziz Bouteflika can hold on for another couple of months, I am good to go.

Anyone else?

I had eight, until that quitter Freddy Fender gave up.

So you’re saying he was a bad sport?

I won’t even compile my list til Dec 1st

Gerald Ford has been in the hospital three or four times in the last couple of weeks. If he doesn’t score for me this year, he’s a sure thing for next year.

I will just use the same one I have for the last 3 years. Everyone on it is apparently immortal. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey kids, what time is it?

Quickie update, and scoreboard to follow…

Congratulations, scorers!

Thanks for the update!

Even though it rubs it in that I have not had one of my selected celebrities help me out yet this year.

I don’t even remember who’s on my list at this point, but everytime I see this thread pop up with a scoring update, and I remain scoreless, I end up screaming in my head “Die, Motherf*ckers! Die!”

I think I need to start researching 2007’s list now.

“Father Knows Best” actress Jane Wyatt, 96.
“Eastenders” actor Ross Davidson, 57.

Who is on guess whose list?

He truly does have the touch of death, it actually scares me a little

Well, you see, by his own admission, **Rachm Qoch ** meticulously searches Internet news sources and other online databases using keywords such as “celebrity,” “terminal illness,” “cancer” etc. to assemble his list.

Me, I’d rather just pick the old, tired, worn out, and overstayed-their-welcome B-list semi-celebrities whose departure from this planet will embiggen us all. (Sting, are you listening?)

And so, while **Rachm Qoch **may pile up a lot of points, I get infinitely more satisfaction each time one of my celebrities die, for the aforementioned reasons.

Now … if only one of my celebrities would just go ahead and kick the bucket already!

The lovely, intelligent, and classy Jane Wyatt did have one white lie–for most of her career, she said she was born in 1912. Later I heard 1911, which is what the NYT went with in its first draft, and now it’s 1910.

Had her in the last couple of years’ list, but this year I was playing for points (again, a round of applause to al-Zarqawi for dying) and left her off. A long life well-lived.

Sandy West, who was the drummer for The Runaways (which also featured Joan Jett and Lita Ford) passed away after a long bout with lung cancer.
