Also, a woman has been arrested in connection with the death of Howard Porter, who was found in a Minneapolis alley on May 19 after being beaten. Porter, who died a week later at the age of 58, had led Villanova’s basketball team to the 1971 NCAA title game. However, after the Wildcats lost to UCLA, Porter’s honor as the tournament’s most outstanding player was rescinded (as was his squad’s designation as national runner-up) when it was revealed that he had been dealing with an agent during the season.
