The Celebrity Death Pool 2009

Congratulations!

I hate you.

2008 results are here.

Oh, not me! Since none of my 2008 picks scored any points, I am still a Death Pool virgin, so to speak.

Wow!
Good Call!

Lucky bastid!

So a whole bunch of people jumped onto the bandwagon I have been hauling around since 2002! Dirty bunch of latecomers, claimjumping my picks.

Sorry, you don’t have a lock on MJ. FWIW, I picked him before the news stories about the lung thing came out. He was an alternate, and moved up because someone else on my list died before the end of 2008.

Count me in on the pre-badwagon bandwagon too.

I quote myself, from this very thread, page 6, post #255

Sure, you are 1, I am 2, but how many of the other 43 people just picked him because they thought he was sick. Did I jump on Patrick Swayze? Noooo, I kept my same list, despite the fact I could have some easy points.

I just wish some of my people would have the decency to kick off so I could make some changes. :stuck_out_tongue:

Okay, Jack is 3, that leaves 42 late comers!

Well dammit, I hate somebody!

CBS news is reporting the death of 16 yr old Jett Travolta- head trauma from a bathtub fall…

Not that he would’ve been a legal pick (he was 16), but John Travolta’s son Jett died today in the Bahamas.

Oops.

Correction - we have 181. In a possibly Freudian moment, I omitted to copy Rachm Qoch’s “celebrities” into my list. So we now have 844.

Thanks Baker.

I think it may be.

The only thing that is close with that is when Lou Rawls died January 6, 2006 that I can remember. ( Oooh, that was a frenzy of cherry poppin’…good times! )
Jade Goody is in the hospital. I see she was on a few people’s list.

Paul Cascioigne might have had the straw that broke the camels back.

Yo-sam Choi was January 3, 2008. Gary Betty (a unique pick for me) was January 2, 2007.

Oooh, you are good. Very good.

Go ahead, suck up. It Won’t Help You Now, we are all in the hands of Fate.
Or incompetent physicians, ineptly driven vehicles, diseases, etc.

No on picked him, and he died last year, but Al Meyerhoff who drastically improved working conditions in Saipan died a few days ago.

As far as I can tell Don Sanderson is the first person to ever be killed in a hockey fight.

I just read this now, and appreciate the substitution. However, if it happens that Hal Holbrook should die twice in 2009 I expect some sort of bonus points.

Veteran actor Pat Hingle, who played Commissioner Gordon in the first four Batman movies, has died at the age of 84.
