The Celebrity Death Pool 2009

Lucy Gordon dead of an apparent suicide. The 28 year old actress was in Spider-Man 3.

One article says “We are not seeking anyone else. It was a clear case of suicide.” and another says “Police initially described her death as suicide but The Sun reports it is now under investigation and the star’s boyfriend is currently being questioned.” Will be interesting to see how this one pans out.

Do I have Farrah Fawcett?
I do not.
I have John Forsythe.

He’s looking quite healty.

[Nelson] Ha ha! [/Nelson]

Even though Shirley has already spoken for herself, I’ll add that that use of the word was quite usual back in the day, a fact I picked up by reading pulp fiction novels of the early 20th century. They spelt weirdly back then, too, e.g., to-day and cöordination, to name just two examples.

Former South Korean president Roh Moo-Hyun a suicide a age 62.

Robert Furchgott, developer of Viagra, dead at 92, good for 8 [del]inches[/del] points.

and now we know what happens when you don’t see a doctor after a 4 hour erection.

Brings whole new meaning to “stiff,” don’t it?

This was a high-scoring weekend for me.

Prof. Him Mark Lai, “Dean of Chinese-American History” at age 83
Germany’s national hockey team goaltender Robert Müller, at age 28

99 points for me, and (I think) 72 points for amarone.

Correct, putting you in the lead and me in second.

Seven of Sublight’s list have now bitten the dust with over half the year still to go.

Correction: 89 points for me and 72 for amarone.

Dear Sublight,

I am envious of your pointage.
Sincerely,

Green With Envy

You sure that’s not decomposition?

Wow.

braiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiins!

Millvina Dean, the last survivor of the ill-fated voyage of the Titanic, has died at the age of 97. She was only nine weeks old when the ship sank on April 15, 1912.

Dr. George Tiller, of Wichita, Kansas, has been shot and killed.

There’s a thread going in the BBQ Pit about his death.

A nice deathpool-related story:

Man with advanced mesothilioma wins $10,000 on a $200 bet at 50-1 odds that he would survive a year.

He also placed another $200 bet that he would survive until June 2010, this one at 100-1 odds.

On the anniversary of the Titanic’s launch, no less. :frowning:
