The Celebrity Death Pool 2009

This is how I think it should be reported:

Person that died: Jim Carroll

Paul Burke, who was nominated for two Emmy Awards while playing the role of Detective Adam Flint on the Naked City police drama program, has died at the age of 83. Burke also appeared as Army Air Forces Colonel Joe Gallagher on Twelve O’Clock High, a mid-1960’s series set during World War II.

Australian television legend Mike Leyland of The Leyland Brothers, dead at 68.

I have 149 points so far and am in 19th place, my best evAr!!!

What a crazy year it is!

362 points is a Death Pool record; the previous record was 344.

I think that I…uh…anyone who had someone on their 2010 DP List die in 2009 should be able to get half the points added to the 2009 list.
Who’s with me on this?

Right

I had MJ, all the Kennedys, and Patrick on my 2010 short list.

As soon as I get my 2010 list together, I’ll be there for you.

I mean, um, that I already wrote it… back in 2008… but I haven’t published it yet, and um, it has almost everyone who’s died in 2009 that I don’t have on my 2009 list. Really quite remarkable, yes, that’s the ticket, really remarkable.

Henry Gibson, of Rowan and Martin Laugh-in fame, has died at age 73.

A unique pick for vivalostwages.

Mary Travers of Peter, Paul, and Mary…

Damn! Henry Gibson and Mary Travers – and today’s my 51st birthday. Do I feel old or what? :frowning:

The Bull Moose is my friend, true blue.
He doesn’t smoke, nor drink, nor chew.
His only fault is, he sniffs glue.
But if I were a bull moose, I would, too!
Damn.

:(:(:frowning:

DAMMIT!

I was going to put Mary Travers in my 2010 list! :frowning:

I’m really bummed about Travers. I remember listening to P, P, and M’s records when I was in grade school, and junior high. An older cousin had them and played them for us. Lemon Tree, Puff the Magic Dragon, If I Had a Hammer, Blowin’ in the Wind, I can still sing the words.

My sister is quite a bit older than I am. I listened to her PP&M albums when I was little too.

Dammit.

I have no problem admitting that I first heard PP&M from my parents’ records and tapes. But when I got older, I got own CDs, so I listen to them, still.

sigh

In a fit of nostalgia I bought two PP&M CDs. Their songs pop up every once in a while on the iPod. I actually listened to them all the way through on the long drive to an uncle’s funeral.
