The Celebrity Death Pool 2011

While I don’t want to count firsthand, I kinda sorta want to know. :frowning:

Brooklyn Dodger Great, Duke Snider, dead at 84

Sixteen points for me. I knew I had him last year, but had to check if I picked him again this year.

And if comparative stats are available for -son deaths last year, I’d love to see them. The -son plague is the best part of the game this year. Death has never been so funny!

Sorry, Meeko
but it’s true!

Frank Buckles, the last U.S. World War I veteran, has died, a spokesman for his family said Sunday. He was 110.
At least he wasn’t Buckleson.

But seriously, he got to speak in 2009 about it. So that’s good. Good to have some things on record.

Bob Dylan’s 1960’s girlfriend and muse Suze Rotolo dead at. 67.

She was immortalized on the Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan LP cover.

Greg Goossen, a 1960’s “bonus baby” who played several seasons as a Major League Baseball catcher but never lived up to his early hype, has died at the age of 65. After he retired from the diamond, Goossen served as Gene Hackman’s stand-in during filming of more than a dozen movies, and occasionally had bit parts on screen.

Gary Winick indy director snuffs it just shy of his 50th birthday.

Brain cancer, if anyone is interested.

Eddie Kirkland blues musician and back up player, killed in auto accident at age 88.

I just ran them, and it’s a zero. None of last years’ deaths had “son” in their name (none of them that counted, anyway).

Is anyone here willing to take odds that Charlie Sheen’ll snuff it before Kirk Douglas?

I dunno - last time I saw a vid or pic of Kirk, he looked like he was teetering on the grave’s edge

Jane Russell, 89.

Did you see him at the Oscar’s last night?

Points for Gwendee and Ms Box.

Anyone with odds that son Michael will die before father Kirk?

Here’s another “son”, if that’s a Nordic name.

Yeah, I tried for Ashley and Mary Kate, but they were Nordic as well.

Right now, I’m curious to see if Sheen’s ongoing implosion will be enough to utterly destroy his career. I can’t think of anyone stupid enough to hire him for anything ever again. Death might be his only career boosting move.
