The Celebrity Death Pool 2012

For March there were two celebrity deaths that mattered to us sickos.

Captain Klutz had a unique pick with Ian Turpie, garnering 32 points.

Then ten of us had Jim Stynes, giving those who picked him 55 points.

There’s a three way tie for the lead.

A big month for the Aussies!

27 miserable points.
Oh, the shame!

Tied for 11th is still better than I have ever done.

I’m still tied for last which is as well as I have ever done.

Wow, fourth place and spittin’ distance from the lead!
I’m going to be happy with this while I can, since most of my high-confidence picks have already croaked. I think I’m a long-shot from here on out.

Baker, would it be possible to include each player’s corpse count alongside their point totals? I find that an interesting aspect of the game. (No big deal if you don’t though. You’re already performing well above your pay grade, and we do appreciate it!)

Sure, I can do that next time, no problem.

It is kind of interesting. There’s two posters that have the same score, BACI and GIGObuster(55), but one has two corpses, and the other has one.

11th place! I cannot even farking remember who I picked to die this year or who on my list has died, but I’m in 11th.
YAY me!

I think all the 11th placers have the same 3 - Etta James, Joe Paterno, Gary Carter.

Jim Marshall, founder of Marshall amps, dies at 88
Jim Marshall, who helped shape the sound of rock ‘n’ roll with his groundbreaking amplifier designs, died in a hospice Thursday morning, his family said.

What a coincidence. I think my Marshall amp might have died this week as well.

In fact … hold the phone. The week Steve Jobs dies, my iPod goes tits up. Now Marshall dies and my amp shuffles loose its mortal coil.

We need to keep the inventor of beer alive as long as possible.

Jim Marshall founder of Marshall Amps has died. No word yet on where he will be interred but it is assumed he will be stacked on top of other Marshalls.

Damn that wasn’t there when I was trying to get the link.

Breaking News Twitter Feed just announced: (no link)

Ferdinand Porsche, 911 Sports Car Designer, Dies

He designed Porsche’s classic 911 sports car - the sleek model that evokes power, wealth and envy among aficionados - cementing his grandfather’s name into the modern psyche Ferdinand Alexander Porsche died Thursday in Salzburg, Austria at age 76.

Did Jim Marshall go to 11th heaven?

At least I don’t own a Porsche.

I would be checking out which rock stars drive Porsches and use Marshall amps and hope they’re on your list…

It’s been a bad couple of weeks to be a legendary banjo player- first it was Earl Scruggs, now it’s “Banjo” Barney McKenna, last of the original Dubliners, dead at 72 of an apparent heart attack.

Dead Pool Sluts!

You’re over by 4000 years and change.

According to legend, Osiris taught ancient Egyptians the art of brewing beer, but the brewing of beer was traditionally but not exclusively a female activity though which women could earn a little extra money (or bartered goods) for themselves and their families.

Beer also figures prominently in Egyptian literature and sayings. For example in this inscription dated to around 2200 BC…

The mouth of a perfectly contented man is filled with beer.
