The Celebrity Death Pool 2013

No offense intended to anyone who made this choice, but Jesse Jackson, Jr. isn’t actually dying, is he? :frowning: He says he’s got problems with clinical depression and bipolar disorder, which is nothing to laugh at, but unless you folks are thinking he’s going to jump out a window or something…

Just looking for info.

I’m also considering both for my 2013 list, seeing as how that worked out sooooo well for me this year. :smack:

I think picking JJJr. is about the same thing as picking someone like Lindsay Lohan.

He’s young enough to make that self-defenestration worth a lot of points. What more do you want out of a death pool pick?

I am surprised everyone is not scrambling to add Bush Senior to their lists. Is that against the rules?

Not many points there.

A little over four days left to post, so here are the top thirteen so far, if you are into bandwagons

Lindsay Lohan 35
George H.W. Bush 28
Fidel Castro 25
Hugo Chavez 18
Zsa Zsa Gabor 18
Muhammad Ali 16
Nancy Reagan 14
Nelson Mandela 14
Billy Graham-e 13
Margaret Thatcher 13
Macauley Culkin 12

Whichever one dies :stuck_out_tongue:

You are correct, it’s the latter for both.

I might want to change my list:

George HW Bush in Intensive Care

“Cautiously optimistic” doesn’t sound particularly good.

Geez, he’s already 2nd on the list for choices. If he dies in 2013 I’m going to have a lot of work to do.

And speaking of work, you people are going to make me work on my birthday, aren’t you, hmmm? Everybody is waiting until the last minute to post. Well, so am I, I guess. Poor me. We have 84 signed up so far, and in 2012 we had 172.

Nothing like a last minute rush! Or, as someone said, “They’re my dead people, dammit!”

Maybe that should be our motto.

Just subscribing to the thread while I come up with my list.

Need to improve on my 56 point effort this year.

Here is mine, though I may revise it before the deadline.

George Bush Sr.
Zsa Zsa Gabor
Ronnie Biggs
Terry Pratchett
Billy Graham
Pope Benedict XVI
Nigel Lawson
Harper Lee
Prince Philip
Jerry Lewis
Fidel Castro
Hugo Chavez

Kirk Douglas

I’ve been meaning to say, here’s a great big Doper

Welcome!

to everyone joining the game this year!

Thanks to the people picking those that are already dead.

Blofeld: “You only live twice, Mr. Bond”.

I’m going to try my hand at a themed list this year. Opry members can’t garner me any fewer than I usually wind up with, although most would make me a bit sad.

Little Jimmy Dickens (older than dirt)
George Jones (old and lived hard)
Loretta Lynn (cancelled a series of concerts this year)
Leroy VanDyke
Lori Morgan (lives hard)
Charlie Pride
Jean Shepard
Ricky VanShelton (retired this year fairly young)
Don Everly
Roy Clark
Bobby Bare
Mel Tillis
Willie Nelson

Alternates:

Billl Anderson
Charlie Daniels
William Lee Golden

Plain list:

Jimmy Dickens
George Jones
Loretta Lynn
Leroy VanDyke
Lori Morgan
Charlie Pride
Jean Shepard
Ricky VanShelton
Don Everly
Roy Clark
Bobby Bare
Mel Tillis
Willie Nelson

Bill Anderson
Charlie Daniels
William Lee Golden

Michael Douglas
Randy Quaid
Lindsay Lohan
Britney Spears
Mel Gibson
Joaquin Phoenix
Mel Brooks
Jerry Lewis
Tiger Woods
Aretha Franklin
Charlie Sheen
Bonnie Franklin
Barack Obama

Unless he has a country album I don’t know about, it would ruin my theme.
