GHW is out of intensive care!
Thanks.
I was hoping that you knew of something a little more…fatal. ![]()
But he is, “at risk”, so to speak. A few years ago I was searching for one more name and decided on Benazir Bhutto. Female, president is a male dominated culture, with political unrest. She came through for me just before the end of the year, on 12/27. My only death that year and a unique pick besides, when she was assasinated.
Thanks for running the game, Baker!

Interestin’ list/theme Twicks. Would it not be a hoot (or possibly the most ghoulish thing ever) if your entire list actually shuffled off this mortal coil on 12/31?
or  as the case may be.
I had so much fun with this last year, I have to do it again! Every time a celeb would kick it, I’d go over my list with excitement - did I have them? How many points?
My daughter, who thinks it’s totally creepy that I do this, started texting me after a death: hey, is so-and-so on your dead people list? See? I knew she’d come around.
I came in 33rd for last year, pretty respectable for my first time, I think. Even two of my alternates bit it! I had a hard time narrowing down choices for this year; but here’s my guesses for 2013:
Pope Benedict XVI
Bonnie Franklin
Penny Marshall
Jerry Lewis
Nancy Reagan
Marcia Strassman
Mary Tyler Moore
George H. W. Bush
Hugo Chavez
Muhammad Ali
James Garner
Annette Funicello
Roger Ebert
Alternates
Prince Phillip
Margaret Thatcher

Back in 2005 I heard of a world leader who had a minor stroke. Even though he seemed to recover I thought it would be a good idea to put him on the 2006 list. 2006 he had a major stroke and it seemed like it was a good choice. That man is Ariel Sharon. I’m too stubborn to give up on him now.
Coming off my best year had to replace 5. Dropped a few others. Hope I won’t regret that.

Just FYI, as he is unlikely to be well known on the other side of the Atlantic, but Tony Greig died in the last couple of days. He was one of my picks for 2013, so I’ll need to go to my first alternate.
Top 10 again in 2012. Always the brides maid, never the groom. So I’m going theme this year baby. ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!!! (American and European).
Sorry for aa Klunky post. From my phone. Heading out of cell phone range

I think everybody who plays this game has somebody like that, both the attitude and the response. For me it’s my supervisor at work! ![]()
And when they ask me “Who’s the sick mind who thought of this game?” I tell them “It started a long time ago and we don’t remember whose idea it was.”

That was my first thought when I read the news. Which just shows how far gone I am.
You and me both.
Kind of a toss-up, though. Do I keep Bush I on my submitted list (he’s out of ICU now) or revise my list and replace Bush with Clinton? If I plotted this on an X/Y graph, I’m not sure I’ve hit the sweet spot yet.
