When crews check structures for survivors, bodies, etc., there’s this universal (I suppose) symbol they spray paint on the front to show that it’s been checked already. It’s an X, and then each quadrant of the X they mark the number of dead, survivors, etc. that they found. But I don’t know how to read the info. What does the info in each quadrant indicate?
Well, that’s hard-R horror movie interesting/entertaining/creepy…
The OP might want to jump to page 40 of 124 in that PDF.
For those that don’t want to dig through the PDF (and thanks for pointing out which page to go to) what it basically says is that when first entering a structure to be searched, draw a diagonal line and write the time and date to the left of it. When done, draw the other diagonal line to complete the X and write the time and date on top. Any hazards are written to the right, and the number of people found is written on the bottom.
There are many more details in the PDF but that’s the quick version.
Urban search and rescue is too. I have not done it, but I have worked a major multi casualty car accident and its surreal.
