The Cleveland Browns march to 0-16 thread

Inside source says Rogers has a broken ankle. Whee.

Lucky bastard.

Randy Lerner is making a good job of running Aston Villa FC, so I have to believe he has the ability to make the Browns work. Of course, he hasn’t exactly managed the job so far too well. :frowning:

As a Cincinnati fan, I am always pleased when the Browns don’t do better than Cincy, but I have always felt that the fans in Cleveland got WAY the short end of the raw deal with the Ravens move and replacement team. The Browns were always about being a competent, decent, hard-working team, unfortunate in that they inhabited the same division with Pittsburgh during the 70s, but given a great set of natural rivalries with Pittsburgh and (after the move to the AFC) Cincinnati. If there is any justice in the world, the Browns will recover from their current state of ineptitude and become a decent team on a regular basis again.

Of course, if there were any justice in the world, the Colts would never be above .500 and the Ravens would be even worse.

And don’t get me started on the Raiders… oh, wait, they ARE being punished for their collective stupidity.

Up until this week I was feeling pretty bad for you guys with this ridiculous string of injuries. Starting next Monday, I will feel bad for you once again. In the meantime, Go Chargers.

That may be a career ender for Pool, he’s had concussion issues all throughout his career.

Jamal was hurting the team by being on it in the last year and a half. I don’t blame him - he just lost it and the O-line wasn’t a good match for his declining skillset to even make it look decent on the way down.

I would say now we have a chance to see what Harrison can do and (with success) he’d become the primary back next year after re-signing, but he must be the most massive dick of all time, because two coaching staffs bench him and/or keep him inactive despite being the best back on the team for 2 years.

Lewis has already announced that he’s retiring at the end of the season, and it’s not like you’re playing for anything this year (except to avoid a pricey draft pick).

Yeah, I know. Which is why it was monumentally stupid to keep playing him for no reason all season while a promising backup in a contract year sat on the bench.

Cleveland may sign DeDe Dorsey, whom was on our practice squad this season and was the last RB cut after a great preseason.

Freshly available from the UFL…

Please, we don’t want your pity. We want your draft choices not your pity. Sure, we’ll just squander them, but we want your draft choices.

He’s actually pretty good man. He was a tough cut for us. We have good talent at RB this season.

Hilarious. Yes, you’ll trade them to the Jets for a backup tackle or something.

I didn’t even see this thread, but I just wanted to say that Michael Silver (Yahoo | Mail, Weather, Search, Politics, News, Finance, Sports & Videos) is undefeated this season in his pick 'em elimination (pick one team each week, can’t pick the same team twice in a season) league by always choosing the brown’s opponents.

Can’t be. The Brownies won a game.

The only thing I’ve smiled about all week:

Week 13. First score by a wr or rb.

Offense is actually looking pretty good against a solid Chargers D.

Whoop! GO CHARGERS! :eek::):eek:;):eek::):eek:

Well tomorrow is the last chance the Browns have at winning a meaningful game. The rest of the schedule… who gives a shit if we beat KC or anything like that? Punching the Steelers in the face and possibly knocking them out of the playoffs is the only good that can come out of this season. I doubt it’ll happen, but they’ve been on a slide, the weather will probably keep the game close, and the Browns have been less horrible the last few weeks, so it’s a possibility.

I’ve been conflicted on whether I care about wins or not from a draft perspective. I generally want nothing to do with the top 5 due to the ridiculous contracts involved, especially in a relatively weak draft class as I’m hearing this year is going to be - but I’ve also been hearing more and more about the Suh kid from Nebraska and how lining him up next to Shaun Rogers would create a hole in time and space. He seems to be the consensus #1 overall pick (and there’s some lofty praise - Kiper says he’s the best defensive prospect he has ever see nin his career). So I’m wondering if getting a meaningless win or two to finish the season and losing the #1 pick to the Rams would be worth it.

Suh is for the Buccaneers. You cannot have him.

This thread needs some space near the top right now…13-3…dramatic comeback, or colossal meltdown for the Steelers? Or do the Browns really have this kind of football in them?
