The Cossack Game -- Thread #2

Except reallyregattarefers to the symbols of office carried or worn by royalty.

I think I’ve come to the end of how long I’ll continue to correct your game-playing errors;

regalia

actually refers to playing time of any sports as proscribed by that sport’s rules and not counting any possible overtime periods.

It’s not all that much of a secret but

regulation

is that process you go through to get signed up for a class, a hotel room or a handgun

Ah, I see where you got confused. Registration is the act of throwing someone from a window.

Well, no. That’s organising people to protest a decision by government officials by staging a defenestration.

I hate to mill about the streets and yell it to the rafters but you’re thinking of

demonstrationwhen you refer to the publication of false statements about a party which, if in writing is called libel and if made orally, is called slander.

I don’t want to be all crappy about this, but defamation is, um, the act of pooping.

Heh. Actually, defecation is a bit of adornment.

C’mon, twickster, think a littler harder, you’ll get there.

decoration

actually means the place to which one is going or directed.

Which must mean the old joke about a man being led around by his penis is true, because direction is what happens to the male member upon arousal.

Heavens, no! An erection is what the United States is going to have in November!

Only if they fly overhead and the

election

seat fails to operate properly

An off-topic question for participants: Would malapropism apply to the majority of these things?

If so, help come up with a word or phrase that’s some spinoff of malapropism to serve as a name for this game. The Cossack Game seems a bit too esoteric and doesn’t really communicate to non-players what’s going on.

Back to the game…

Some of the posts are malaprops, some are puns.

I suppose the entire thread could be a** malapropagation**.

Beautiful! I like it and if this ain’t the one it’s going to need some fierce competition.

You people are weird. Everyone knowsejectionis an archaeological digging.

[oog : I like “malapropagation” as well.]

Not quite,

excavation

is actually what you do when you explain something in detail.

They may explain it in great detail, but sex therapists are really trying to get us to free ourselves of exposition

In case you’ve bookmarked or subscribed to this thread and haven’t seen the front page of this forum recently, you should know that a new round of this game has started.
