The crap that is on my local news

This is the problem when people say that they wish that the news would report more “good news” and less “bad news.” 99% of “good news” is boring garbage like what the OP is discussing. Bad news is almost by definition more interesting and newsworthy than good.

It’s definitely the part of it that bugs me the most. The rest is just a lost-and-found ad, which doesn’t bother me too much, other than wishing they’d actually do what I mentioned Seth Meyers did. I even now remember the segment: “News we need right now.”

It’s also why I subscribe to r/UpliftingNews on Reddit, even as people continue to complain that said good news tends to also mention bad news—in that it’s something bad getting better.
