The Creepy Thread (Stories and Links Welcome)

That’s a seizure, all right.

Zombie leprechauns?

Photo 14 on that page purports to show a classified photo of the Trinity test. I assume there is supposed to be something hidden in it but I can’t spot anything odd.

Am I missing something?

I don’t understand what they mean by that line either, it sounds very strange.

Same on both counts.

fuuuuuuuuck. that’s a good one.

How creepy are we going for here, by the way? Wikipedia pages about brutal murders or war crimes? (I’d consider them more horrifying than just “creepy”). Or something a little more PG-13?

Just saw this - I’d say either, personally.

Ok, good that this thread was revived. I just came across this “scary” 32 page manga, The Enigma of Amigara Fault: Spooky Hallowen Of Doom: Amigara (read from right to left, I think it’s originally in Japanese). Some people found it scary, especially if you’re claustrophobic, but I found the ending so ridiculous and even funny, and the story so unbelievable that it didn’t do anything for me. Maybe others will appreciate it. Spoiler: the ending can be expressed as this

And finally, here’s a link to the ‘We’re Alive’ podcast. It’s a Zombie Apocalypse podcast that’s fairly well done and interesting…

Looked at it a bit, the cloud formation lower right appears to have the face of the devil looking towards the mushroom cloud.

Kids can be creepy

Definitely.

Actually my daughter kind of creeped me out the other night. It was about 1030ish and my wife and I were going to bed. My children had gone to sleep over an hour and half earlier.

I guess I had heard something and I opened my eyes. My daughter was just standing there, not moving. That startled me quite a bit. The adrenaline was flowing and I asked her what was up. She said “There’s a man scratching at my window”.

Fully alarmed I go with her into her room. She points to her window and says “he’s out there”. I looked out the window - nothing. I stayed in there for a few minutes and asked her a few questions. I asked how she knew it was a man and she said she didn’t know.

As I said, I stayed there a few minutes and then I made sure that she went to sleep.

Thirty minutes later, same thing. “There’s a man scratching at the window”.

I go through the same routine and again, 30 minutes (maybe an hour) she comes to get me awake. Horrible thoughts are running through my mind (I’ve been reading about missing people lately). This time my wife was up. I told her to put my daughter to sleep while I check around the house. I get my stuff on and go around the house (with a weapon). That was nerve wracking. There was, of course, nothing there.

Also, there are no branches or anything that could have made the noise that my daughter heard.

Wait until you get to number one.

It’s almost Halloween, so I guess I’ll bump this.

Also, check this creepy story out.

The Uncle Who Worked for Nintendo is pretty effective as well.

I was going to post The Uncle who works for Nintendo. Pretty good atmosphere though it could have been a little more subtle.

The Deep sleep trilogy of flash horror adventure games are enjoyably creepy and they’re free to play.
The first one.
The second.
The third and last.

To begin, I don’t believe in ghosts, or demonic forces, or wendigoes, or werewolves, etc.

I walk my dog every night in the fields and woods around our house after I put the kids to bed. Because it’s nearing winter, I now walk my dog in the dark.

Over the past 2 weeks, I’ve been getting this weird feeling that I’m being watched. I’m hyper-sensitive to any strange noises. I swear if a deer bounded out of the woods I’d fall over from a heart attack. This is very weird to me, because I have spent dozens of nights and early mornings in the woods either backpacking or hunting. I’ve never been freaked out by being alone in the dark.

Four days ago, one of our chickens went missing. I searched the entire 5 acre yard to see if I could find a clue as to what took it. I didn’t find so much as a single feather. It’s just gone.

And now, every night as I walk through the field and into the dark woods, past the crumbling foundation of an abandoned cabin, I can’t help but think about that chicken. What could have grabbed it and disappeared with it?

And what if it grabbed me?

Maybe…you are the chicken.
