Pulling Zambrano in game one was about the dumbest thing I ever saw Lou do. His reason for doing it was dumber. Yes, the batters failed to hit. Just like the Yankee hitters are failing to hit. However, bad manager decisions can still cost you a game. You cannot afford to lose 1 game in a 5 game playoff to dumb in game decisions. The hitters are failing, but that happens often in the post-season.

Yes the Cubs suck. Yes I’m miserable. But I’m tired of hearing about how Pinella shouldn’t have pulled Z in game 1 because “you can’t play for the future in the playoffs etc… etc…”

Look, it’s true you can’t play for the future in the playoffs, but you also can’t play under the assumption that your lousy ass team is going to get SWEPT. He ASSUMED the Cubs would win at least 1 game (which ain’t alot to ask) which would have put Z back in there for sure. Even if Z had stayed in we still wouldn’t have been hitting the ball to get runs up on the board in game 1.

The bottom line is that the Cubs PLAYERS sucked in every way possible through the entire series. When your entire team is whiffing at the plate and your entire bullpen is serving up meatballs there ain’t shit you can do as a manager.

Clearly it’s 100% Lou’s fault. Cubs fans have the best 20/20 hindsight in the world. Hopefully he’ll get fired and then hired by a team I can root for in the playoffs!

I was just saying to my husband that the WORST possible thing that could happen to the Cubs is Lou getting fired. I hope management is not stupid enough to take that route.
