The Cubs haven't been to a series since 1945. Why?

The Cubs no longer reliably sellout Wrigley Field. Remember Lee Elia’s tirade…before 1984, they had awful attendance. However, the warm fuzzy glow that Harry Caray, Ryno, Gracey, and the Hawk brought to the team has faded recently. Sosa disappointed a lot of fans and Zambrano has gone down that same path…he’d be gone if only he was tradeable.

So the Cubs can’t expect to coast on “making money and sucking” anymore. Interesting to see how the new owners develop the team in the coming years…if the Cubs continue to disappoint, Wrigley could get emptier and emptier.

The Cubs haven’t had a Chance for 98 years, since 1912. If Ever they really want a successful team, it’s time to Tinker with things a bit.

I’ll see your Cubs and raise you one Detroit Lions.
